ok so im looking into an a/b ext for the next time maybe, i just wanted to know if i could use a small amount of ph down or phosphoric acid instead of using vinegar to lower the ph.
i cant see why not or why it wouldnt work but id like to know just how much acid to use per litre of water to lower it to the correct amount, i dont have a ph pen or strips to double check so hoped sum1 might already know. if i have to use vinegar its no problem its just i got a bottle of ph down in the cupboard an it seems it might be a better choice as less is needed an it dosnt taste/smell like vinegar.
any body have any idea about using less of a stronger acid in a/b teks i searched but couldnt find anything specifically for phosphoric acid.

1.5 ml of phosporic acid gave a pH reading of ~4 when added to 3600ml of water.
Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ?

FAQ: What kind of acids one can use?

Yes it will work fine. DMT extraction is very forgiving, all you need is an acidic water, no need to be accurate with pH, too much wont hurt and as long as its not basic, the natural acids in mimosa will make water slightly acidic and dmt in salt/water-soluble form anyways

but why not use something foodsafe, cheap and easy to find as vinegar? I doubt yield will be better, but feel free to try it out and let us know anyways Pleased

thanks for the replies.
i think the foodsafe route would be a great idea if the whole ext tek was to be using food save ingredients, but imo its a bit pointless when ive still got to add a shit load of lye an then extract using relatively harmful/toxic solvents, a few mls of acid i dont think would make much diff. also my misses gets annoyed when she needs the vinegar an its all gone as ive used it for something random. but yea i read the dmt handbook an it uses phosphoric acid aswell, maybe i should have checked that first lol.
thanks again.
