As i said might be, and or other influences.
Here some hard data:
A microwave operates at 2.55 GHz.
In the US
GSM850 from 824-894 MHz
PCS1900 from 1.85-1.99 GHz
UMTS from 1.71-1.78 and 2.11-2.155GHz

There might be more but I don´t have mor data about the US cellphone industry.

Wouldn't you also want to take in the consideration of the use of a microwave compared to the use of a cell phone, the microwave may contain radioactivity but a cell phone is deff used more sometimes for hours at a time.

NOPE NOPE NOPE

Every food heated in the microwave is fucking dead and partly poisonous.
Even not for water.

Put one end of a chain in it, fill it up with concrete and use it as an anchor for a boat.
The only reasonable use for a microwave.Twisted Evil Laughing

But that´s my opinion.
And I avoid to use my cellphone for hours per day not even per week.

Garfield, I don't understand how microwaved food can be dangerous. Without giving us a 10 page report, can you fill us in? I would like more discussion about this. I've always believed and argued that it's perfectly safe.

Dear Elf Machine

Take a sample of your blood.
Then put a glas of water into the microwave heat it up.
Drink it, of course let it cool down if it´s too hot.Wink
Wait 20 minutes, take another blood sample,
and compare both under a darkfield microscope.
You will be astonished!!!Shocked
A lot of your bloodcells will look like a roll of coins.
The bloodcells stick together and subsequently the posibility of transporting oxygen is reduced.

This is just a simple test.
The study of Dr. Hertel which I mentioned in my first post showed:
Significant reduction of hemoglobin, cholesterol both HDL and LDL and lymphocytes.
Destabilizing of aktive biomolecular proteins in microwaved food.
Reduction of plant alkaloids in raw, cooked and frozen vegetable even if they were only shortly microwaved. (so do not heat up your mhrb brew in a microwaveLaughing )
And these are only a few examples

For further details please try to get a english copy of Dr. Hertels work.
For each of these medicinal words I had to find a proper translation in an online dictionary.Rolling eyes

Since I have thrown my microwave away my allergies disapeared. Perhaps this was not the only reason for the improvement of my health status, but it was definitely a hughe part of.

Hope this was short enough.

PS: We are getting offtopic with that, so this discussion might be better in a new topic.

IMO, and this is obviously just my opinion from personal experience, microwaves and cell phones = death. There have obviously not been long-term studies done (however biased they might be) on the effects cell phones have on us.

Microwave ovens have been around for 60 or so years. They must be safe. Hell no. I ate microwaved food for years and when I stopped, I noticed a difference. Even when I cooked the shit out of my food in a pan or over a fire, it still gave me more energy and tasted better than food that was microwaved.

I used to own a cell phone. I didn't even use it for prolonged periods of time. But I started to get migraines when I would use it for more than a few minutes at a time. All in my head? Could be. But I had nothing against cell phones up until I started to notice that I was getting a migraine if I stayed on it for more than 10 or 15 minutes. I am very prone to migraines/headaches, so am very sensitive to many things.

To me, even just the possibility of being poisoned/injured by these devices is enough for me to stay well away from them. I mean, if there is a potential of harm, holding that device to your head or eating food tainted by it is a good way to find out Laughing

microwave energy is considered low-energy RF, and it doesn't linger in food; no gamma, beta, nor alpha partical emission.

All I know is that it changes the food. The energy I get from sauteed food or roasted food is far superior to microwaved food.

then you feel better from that method of prepared food because of your preference for it

all a microwave does is excite dipoles in molecules; it's tuned for optimal excitation of water molecules

did anyone see that experiment where the seedlings died after a few days of microwaved water

iv always "thought" that cellfones were the next bad thing after cfc's and all the other "safe" ideas
they also recently released a bunch of mosquitoes that live 50% as long in some asian country to prevent disease - again look at the past.

I have 4 cellphones - i havent touched them in a long time and choose not to use a cellphone.

Hey that's a great idea for an experiment. Except to be taken seriously, they would use samples of 1000. Anyone could do it.

This sounds like a half-thought experiment. People will not start such an experiment unless they can think of something that might be altered in the water by microwaving (versus e.g. just stove boiling).

This is practicality. None of your average busy persons will devote his spare time to do this experiment with a thousand seedlings if he cannot name at least something that might be changing in the water by microwaving. Since really nothing changes, such an experiment falls waaaaaay back on the priority list of anyone who wishes to do experiments in general.

I´m not a professional in biophysical behavior of bloodcells. Go and search the Hertel study or one these other studies:
Journal of Natural Sciences, 1998; 1:2-7
American Journal of Epidemiology, 1994: 139: 903-9
Paediatrics, 1992; 89:667-9
Journal of Microwave Powder 6, 1971

Or search sombody who has a darkfield microscope and perform this test on your own.

My personal opinion is that it has to do with induced electrostatic energy which forces the cells like row of magnets to stick together. But there might be an other explaination.
Regarding microwaved water and bloodcells this is a reversible effect, 1 or 2 hours later the body seperated the bloodcells.
But this takes energy out of other internal systems, don´t know which particular systems this might be, but if there is a chance to avoid energy drain go for it.

Later I will refer to the other posts, but I have to leave my office right now.
Going to a Yug-Gi-Oh battle with my son Very happy

This sounds similar to the behaviour of red blood cells of people who carry the sickle cell gene and are resisting malaria.

Slightly offtopic...but one study that I have happened across shows a connection between cell phone radiation and decreased sperm mobility and viability. Abstract sourced from here.

Quote:
Objective
To evaluate effects of cellular phone radiofrequency electromagnetic waves (RF-EMW) during talk mode on unprocessed (neat) ejaculated human semen.

Setting
Center for reproductive medicine laboratory in tertiary hospital setting.

Samples
Neat semen samples from normal healthy donors (n = 23) and infertile patients (n = 9).

Intervention(s)
After liquefaction, neat semen samples were divided into two aliquots. One aliquot (experimental) from each patient was exposed to cellular phone radiation (in talk mode) for 1 h, and the second aliquot (unexposed) served as the control sample under identical conditions.

Main Outcome Measure(s)
Evaluation of sperm parameters (motility, viability), reactive oxygen species (ROS), total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of semen, ROS-TAC score, and sperm DNA damage.

Result(s)
Samples exposed to RF-EMW showed a significant decrease in sperm motility and viability, increase in ROS level, and decrease in ROS-TAC score. Levels of TAC and DNA damage showed no significant differences from the unexposed group.

Conclusion(s)
Radiofrequency electromagnetic waves emitted from cell phones may lead to oxidative stress in human semen. We speculate that keeping the cell phone in a trouser pocket in talk mode may negatively affect spermatozoa and impair male fertility.

Why would someone place his cell phone in talking mode next to his balls? Made me realise it's a good that our mouths and ears are not next to our genitals? Never understood why they're so far apart, nice to know there's an advantage to this anatomical separation.

Compared with gamma rays, beta and alpha particles you are right, but compared with your 50/60 Hz houshold electricity or even FM radio signals you are wrong. The higher the frequency -> the higher the impact!

You are right a microwave oven isn´t a reactor.
Put your food in a reactor and you have changes in the procentual range. After the "treatment" in a microwave oven you find changes in the ppm and promille range, but living organisms tend to accumulate these substances because they cannot handle this stuff.
Simple example there isn´t much mercury in sea water 1 nanogram per liter (1kg per 1km³ of seawater)this refers to the north sea. Through the accumulation you get 0.1 miligram per kg in sea fish. A 100.000 fold increase.
Why? Because the organisms can´t get rid of it.Mad
Sunlight isn´t that harmful, without it nearly nothing would be alive on the surface of this beautiful planet.

benzyme wrote:

Partly true but his preferences aren´t the whole story.

benzyme wrote:

You are right this was the intention to tune the microwave to 2.55 GHz, but this doesn´t mean that nothing else can get in resonance. In addition the H2O molecule gets that much excitet that out of pure mechanical force it can harm other molecule surrounding it.

Elf Machine wrote:

You must be very idealistic and philanthrop to perform such an experiment without getting payed for it.
This is the reason why never sombody performed test on this scale -> everbody beliefes it is save to use a microwave.
It is more or less that simple.

Regarding water in the microwave, there is a change!
The cluster formations of water get ripped apart and smashed to pieces.
In addition to that there is the theory of the memory of water. IMHO this is much more than a theory.
A simple experiment here put a vessel with water, doesn´t matter which and where from, right beside a cellphone for a minute while it is transmitting.
Than store that closed vessel (a jar for example) let´s say in your cellar or a dark place in the garage.
After three month you take a measuring amplifier which works in the frequency output range of your cellphone and put it with your jar of stored water in a farady cage. And TaaTaa You can still detect the frequency of you cellphone in that water even after 3 month!Shocked

No need for that, your cellphone while switched on is sending a short "I´m still here" message to the provider every 30 minutes or so. You can hear that by putting it near to an fm radio. You will hear a "dadada....dadada..." in your switched on radio. And since so many cellphone user are using a bluetooth headset the phone stays in the pocket even in full transmition mode.
