I remembered learning in physics that electromagnetic radiation has an exceptionally hard time passing through iron bars. Being that the DMT experience seems to be so energetically-bound, I'd be curious to see what would happen if you were to sit in a small iron cage. I don't really know what to expect, and am more than aware that very possibly it may affect nothing other than the fact that I will see bars in front of my face for the duration of the experience. Now, if only I could locate some iron bars... "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

I think it deserves merit, but bars i doubt wouldnt stop anything. I love finding new ways to experiement with DMT. My lattest is with a franks box, but i'm afraid it would be too distracting and take away rather than add to the trip, also it doesnt work after the experience (i've tried then...aliens/ghosts/angels/ego? whatever goes away on comedown) Might make an interesting thread on experimental methods and DMT

electromagnetic radiation has an exceptionally difficult time traveling through open bars as it is redirected. It is because of this phenomena that I would like to explore further. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

@skinwalker, check out the Wikipedia entry on Faraday Cages, for why you wouldn't need a solid lead lined box. It's the same reason you only need the grid in the window of your microwave. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

When sister was at art school, one of her professors spoke about an installation she created for one of the biennials. She created a coffin like box on end that had a copper faraday cage built into it. The installation was interactive. Gallery visitors could enter it and close the door (lid?). Despite the fact that the line up to enter this thing got longer and longer, visitors were reluctant to come out, in some cases needed to be evicted, lol.
Something about being inside a faraday cage appealed to them on a level they were not able to articulate.

I'm very curious what a DMT experience would be like in space. Would it be stronger or weaker? or just the same? I think it would be very interesting to see. I think no matter what it would tell us something significant. I've had moments where the experience has felt like the collective mind of the earth itself communicating. If this is the case than the effects may be weaker in space. If it is some kind of universal force permeating everything in the universe it may be stronger in space. The lack of an atmosphere to pass through may have an effect or not. Fascinating concept to recrute an open minded astronaut visiting the ISS to pack a small amount of oral DMT to test out. its an absolutely crazy idea but fun to think about . Something else that stirs my curiosity regarding the molecule and electromagnetic energy stemmed from something of an accident the other day. You see I bought these throw-away foam plates and they are absolutely loaded with static electricity. If you're holding one and it gets even remotely close to the table, it sucks itself over to the table with an interesting amount of force. Wave your hand over one and you can easily feel it. Anyway, the other day when I was preparing my rue to be put into gel caps, I emptied the ground up rue onto one of these plates, and the particles instantly started reorganizing themselves on the plate. They were in a constant state of excitement so long as they were on the plate. I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if it would make any difference if I put some spice on the plate before loading it up in the GVG. I doubt it would actually make any difference, but I can't help but wonder... "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

I haven´t tried to get loaded in a Faraday Cage but I can feel the difference of beeing in one or not. Might be a nice and stunningly experience of deprivation on the EM-level. โCoincidences are what are left over after you've applied a bad theory.โ P.W. Bridgman

Would also be interesting to see if long-term EM deprivation has any effects

Interresting experiment. Filtering out possible external "interferance" with the DMT experience. Allthough it has come to my attention that most "interference" is internal, from the Ego and it's inceassant thinking and analysing. It would be interresting though, to see if filtering out external electro-magnetical signals reduces our thought-frequency. Maybe the field of EM-signals do interfere with our consciousness and the brain's signals.
You could build a faraday cage with simple brass mesh and some wood and see if your thought/sense process is altered. Then you could smoke DMT in it and determine if there was a difference.

In terms of the "EM-shielding", I think it becomes interesting in that you wouldn't just be blocking external EM, but also whatever you're putting out internally I imagine might be put in some kinda feedback loop; the EM that you put out can't escape and therefore bounces around inside. Of course I'm just speculating, but that's one way that I imagine it might go. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein

I am not sure that spice has anything to do with electro magnetics. If spice does truly compel an external experience, and not an internal journey, it seems to me that it would follow more along the lines of the rules of quantum mechanics - such as entanglement theory, string theory, M theory, and follow along the paths of sub atomic particles. From what I have read, which is somewhat limited, the 'smashing machine' in France has discovered, hundreds of different sub atomic particles. It is an interesting thought, sensory deprivation and sound wave harmonics definitely have a psychedelic effect - for example Maeshowe and the caves in France; the caves in France only have drawings in the chambers that have unique acoustic traits. Would be interesting to see what effects a lead box would have, I don't think the steel cage would have much effect because of the electrons ability to behave as a wave or a particle, however the electrons ability to go from one to the other has to do with the electron being perceived. All very interesting stuff. Here are some video's on the topic: Dr. Quantum on Double SlitDr. Quantum on EntanglementString TheoryM-TheoryM-Theory is the most interesting one, IMHO. The truth is not for all men, but only for those who seek it.

Regardless of spice use, human-beings have a natural output of EM. I believe emotions can affect that EM field and as spice will naturally alter emotions, I believe that it would entail that it spice can affect that EM. I have also noticed several incidents of electronics acting quite funny while using spice, and this makes me inclined to believe the above as well. "Science without religion is lame.
