So i just got to wondering, does DMT cause flashbacks like acid? I know heavy acid users and sometime shroom users can experience flashbacks for quite some time, but what about the spice? cdoc is a fictional character, and does not represent any real life persons actions. Anything said is also ficticious in nature with no ties to real events or people, any tie to real life events or persons is purely coincidental.

I can't speak for everyone, but for those i know, flashbacks occurred when certain sounds, feelings, or smells were presented. Also, when they were on the spice it felt so familiar. They said they heard voices saying things like "she/he's back" and "i've been here before" We are perceptions, we can all change. Everything Perceptual Reality posts is hypothetical or fictional.

I've never had a flashback off of any substance.
I've had reminiscence triggered by smells, sounds and the like, but that can happen for any memory. A scent triggered memory can be very strongly reminding.

Acid flashbacks are a myth..a bs scare tactic. You arent any more prone to have a flashback from LSD than you are from some other random trumatic life experience.. Perceptual Reality..what you are describing sounds more like HPPD..which itself is a term I am somewhat skeptical of. See..with these sorts of things its always "Oh well I know this guy..or my freinds cousin says that his friends bf took acid and bla bla bla"..you never hear a first hand account of actual LSD flashbacks..prob becasue they dont happen. I heard a good one from a guy at work in the summer. He told me all about his dads friend who took much LSD back in the day, and now the resulting scabs on his brain periodically peel away/fall off or some other rediculous thing and cause him to have "flashbacks" ... This is similar to the rediculous story numerous people have spat out in my presence about psilocybin mushrooms being active via the spinal chord moving up, stabbing the base of the brain, which then bleeds back down onto the spine resulting in a trip.... No, Neither DMT or LSD cause flashbacks..there is absolutily no evidence of this at all. Long live the unwoke.

Im very curious as to what HPPD is though, care to elaborate a bit? We are perceptions, we can all change. Everything Perceptual Reality posts is hypothetical or fictional.

Never a flashback while conscious. SWIM most definitely has had quite a few extremely vivid dreams of smoking spice and having a full blown breakthrough while dreaming. Not just a recall of a previous breakthrough but a totally unique experience. Something I'm sure he wouldn't have been capable of had he not already broken through before. It's weird, but SWIM loves it!

This is a study on LSD flashbacks: http://www.erowid.org/ch...als/lsd/lsd_info3.shtml
This also is another page about LSD with another study present: http://www.xs4all.nl/~4david/lsd.html
I also know someone who used acid and said that he has experienced them only a couple times. Flashbacks are only momentary lapses in time in which a previous user has the feeling of being back to where they were when they did acid, or has very brief symptoms of an acid trip.Usually set off by different trigger they are by very brief usually only a couple seconds at most. "flashbacks" are very rare I have read, within only the low 20% experiencing them. If not from lsd then what are these symptoms from? Good discussion guys cdoc is a fictional character, and does not represent any real life persons actions. "SWIM" doesn't know quite why but SWIM has had weed flashbacks and pepspice(K2 synthetic weed) for example SWIM was walking down the street and saw a cop car and flashbacked to a time on weed when SWIM thought his ass was on fire(weird trip) because of seatwarmers. Then SWIM felt movement as if the sidewalk was a treadmill. SWIM suspects that it is something to do with the pepspice as it is a new unexperimented with drug(Don't try it! BAD idea.).
Also SWIMs geometry teacher cracks his back on accident occasionally and starts tripping out. For example he once started "flying" (he thought he was a plane) and when a student asked a question about math he told the student to wait until he was done flying.
Just saying. However the scare tactic is not relevent from SWIMs experiences as SWIM could have been able to keep driving or doing a task even with the flashback.
I don't know about DMT.

I wouldn't call it a "flashback" because it implies something its not.. but myself and a couple other Nexians have returned to a place of white light while attempting to go sleep in the weeks following a DMT journey.

"Also SWIMs geometry teacher cracks his back on accident occasionally and starts tripping out." Sounds like a neat trick. The whole idea of MDMA, LSD etc being stored in spinal fluid and released when one cracks the back is a myth as well. People have flashbacks from all kinds of events..if you study imprinting it makes perfect sense. I do believe that "flashbacks" are the reactivation of an old imprint left from a certian experience, usually tramatic. Long live the unwoke.

indeed, LSD is not actually stored anywhere in cerebrospinal fluid. That myth has been floating around forever. I think it is more along what you said also enchantment. An imprint made on a person that certain triggers seem to reactivate later down the road. These people with "flashbacks" say they seem to go away after a while which makes sense. PTSD when dealt with properly tends to become increasingly less of a problem after a while, as does the "flashbacks" associated with lsd. The brain recovers if you give it enough time. cdoc is a fictional character, and does not represent any real life persons actions. I have done LSD and Shrooms dozens of times, and the only time i came close to a flash back was when i smoked way to much weed a few months after my last trip. It was quite scary actually. I walked inside after finishing a large joint, and maybe it was due to having low blood sugar at the time, but i became very week and started to get that feeling of not knowing who i was. Eg, starring at my hands and not understanding what they were / household objects lost meaning. So pretty much i sat down and everything around me started turning into fractals and cylindrical objects would become square shaped. i was going in waves of sobriety - to an extent. This lasted about 20 minutes before i kinda just fell asleep and woke up hungry. So to conclude, i believe flashbacks are possible if one is already high on a different substance.. ~Tizzy "The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. Thanks for the experience Tizzy! Marijuana is one of the substances that is thought to cause "flashbacks" (as you very well know ) Alcohol, even caffeine and too much lack of sleep has shown to bring on "flashback" symptoms cdoc is a fictional character, and does not represent any real life persons actions. SWIM just assumed it was because he cracked his back. I didn't really know if that was true, but he was trippin and hadn't used anything.

SWIM has gotten the usual "dude i swear, i smell DMT?!?!?" but thats about it lol. SWIM has, however, gotten stright blown 5-meo-dmt flashbacks in his sleep about 5 times since smoking 5-meo-dmt 6 months ago. I am a saltydawg using my master's computer posting fictional posts for another saltydawg that lives in a different country.

~Tizzy I have had many cannabis trips like that. Believe it or not that is all very normal of a psychedelic dose of cannabis, sometimes it will just hit you that way, or if you loose your tolerance and then smoke again it can do it. I wouldnt call it a flashback, since you have taken a psychedelic. Cannabis is weird that way. Sometimes you never get there with it for a few years, other times it happens at first and then you build tolerance..it does so many things, its a depressant, stimulant, empathogen and psychedelic all in one. Long live the unwoke.

When I suffered from high anxiety, sometimes I would have what I referred to as flashbacks in stressful situations. It never got stronger than a come-up on LSD, with the walls morphing with mild auditory hallucinations. They had never happened before I took mushrooms and seemed more common the closer to when I would journey, especially with LSD. Since I have taken care of the anxiety, it hasn't happened again. Even if imprinting is the mechanism for them, it still seems appropriate to call these experiences flashbacks. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms
