I've been following a couple of the threads here on Nexus that deal with the sounds people hear while exploring.
This is a fascinating subject for me. I have yet to experience hyperspace, but I have fond memories of aural hallucinations experienced while experimenting with mushrooms.
After listening to some of the examples in various threads in the Enigmaticus section, it seems to me that most of the referenced sounds are phase/frequency shifting type effects, or granular sample/looping type effects.
I find it interesting that these types of effects deal largely with manipulating perception of time.

Where I am relatively new to spice, I have experienced the uptake whine when the DMT hits you. I've read this is naturally a side effect but I can not remember why? Perhaps the rise of blood pressure?

Anyways I had my first strong trip the other night and I did not enjoy it for the most part but afterwards during the afterglow, I heard a strange sound. When everything is completely quiet can you hear a extrmeley high pitch? Its as if you can hear the silence, hard to describe. Afterward this sound would fluctuate and it got so loud that I had to grab my ears. But the weird thing was there was no sound and this was during the afterglow.

I did not noticed sounds during the actuall trip but I am new so I probably was not paying attention during my first encounter of getting smacked by DMT.

I have asked a few of my fellow explorer friends, and it appears that the ringing/whine/tone during the initial onset is a very common occurance during experience.

I looked up some stuff and a whine can be a result of a spike in blood pressure. That is pretty weird, to hear your own pressure building up.

I've experienced something similar coming down from from LSD trips, but always attributed the effect to club/wharehouse soundsystems damaging my ears. Ah, to be young and stupid again...Wink

I was reading something recently regarding the concept of 'liminal time', as in the idea of a lifetime experienced in a moment, and found myself wondering what that might sound like if one's aural senses remained in real time. I've read several people's accounts of being able to hear sounds of the real world around them while in hyperspace.

Everytime i start to peak on a mushroom trip i start to yawn, while i yawn is generates this frequency/signal like humming sound. After doing this for a couple of years i noticed that its not the yawning that generates this sound. I can do it by moving my ear muscles its almost like a tuner for psychedelic frequency for me. When i make the sound with my ears and hold it, i leave my body and surf threw space. I dont know if this makes sence but i clench my ear muscles, some people might not be able to do this if they cant move their ears Razz

Also with DMT i always hear strange sounds, Humming and snapping and cracking like firecrackers going off right in the center of my head (It is a very physical feeling). This only happens to me for the first few seconds after i smoke it before i leave my body. It took a while to get used to, but i came to terms with it, DMT gives you a near death experience, and the sounds are just a part of the fake death it is putting you through. It makes the trip more authentic and real Pleased

I have tinnitus as is, which is what this sounds like (excuse the pun). Raised blood pressure can cause ringing (or flat tone signal) in the ear, as mine get worse sometimes on various heart raising substances.
What goes up, must come down.

I know the sound. I often associate the clenching of these "ear muscles" with rolling back my eyes.

I definitely agree with you regarding the sounds. My first few attempts with DMT and Changa produces a weird wha wha sound. Of course on any type of hallucinogen I over analyze any sound heard thinking its something going on. But for me I experience certain visual distortions as well as sounds. I can tell when its creeping in by the way things start to look. Things start to look hot and sweaty with a halo or light around it.

Either way, fun times Smile

I noticed a high pitch whine after coming down from the salamba sirsasana headstand pose. If anyone can try this one and remain upside down for about a minute, listen out for this sound and compare it to the DMT-induced whine. WARNING: If you haven't done this before, do it against a wall in case you fall backwards! And research any precautions before performing this pose as some conditions are contraindicated.
The trees spoke to me through the wind. The more I listened, the more they spoke.

during my first breakthrough trip with ayahuasca in peru, i could hear the vibrations inside my ear bouncing off my ear drum and could hear everything as if i were actually inside of my own ear listening to this. Every little detail of what was going on i could feel and hear, it was pretty amazing

I love these kinds of localized auditory experiences. Very interesting.
