This is next to a mexican mini mart in my town. It looks like it has cuttings taken off of it, but those could just be the branches breaking from the weight. This thing looks like a beast to me, so I was wondering if this is actually San Pedro.. I think I'm going to go back today and see if I can get a cutting to take home and observe a little more closely.

Holy shit, I am comparing the pictures I just uploaded to other san pedro pics and I must say I am waaaay off. The cactus I posted is so thin and skinny and dark green. Damn.. My bad lol. I have a lot to learn about cactus because in my head they honestly looked the same. I guess it didn't help that a few of my buddies thought it might be a san pedro as well. My goodness, sorry to waste your time! :/

You can get some very green trichocereus species, but it was the shape that was way off.

Also I'm not used to seeing san pedro growing in the wild, but I'm not sure they cluster in the same way either. They generally grow in large columns with maybe one or two offshoots of pups. Certainly not like bunching banana's

Yeah, I told my buddy I was going to plant some san pedro seeds soon and he said I could just get some from the plant down the street from his house. I saw it an just assumed he knew what he was talking about and it looked very similar to the pictures I had seen. Not anymore though, I found the sticky thread (imagine that, a sticky.. :/ im a little slow. lol) that is about Trichocereus IDing. Thanks for holding back the flame I think I've got what I need to ID these things now.. Idk if I could grow them from seed.. I hear cuttings are much easier.

Yeah, I just wanted a cutting. There are millions of fallen branches on the ground all over the sidewalk.. I mean, I guess it is somebody's but those people obviously don't care about their cactus or the area surrounding their cactus. If I found a san pedro at somebody's place of residence.. I'd probably try to work up the balls to ask to buy a cutting. Plus, I'm sure I could just walk into the mini mart and ask for a piece of the cactus and it would be fine with them. It is a nice small town after all.
