A new doc film following three successful but troubled individuals travelling to South America for a date with ayahuasca.

Looks very interesting and i'd like to watch it. Has anyone else come across this?

I cant find a website for the film or filmmaker, but i've contacted them via FB as i'd like to help facilitate a UK screening. More to follow here if anyone is interested in knowing how this develops.

And another one!
http://www.vineofthesoul.com/

Seems to be taking a more general look at ayahuasca, again through the experiences of western folk engaging the traditional shamanic technique. Seems all the regular talking heads are there espousing the virtues of the ayahuasca experience. Perhaps this film wont reveal anything new to the converted, and its potential to encourage 'ayahuasca tourism' and its often questionable implications is worth discussion, but i'll be watching it in any case.

Anyone seen this one yet either?

Looks like it may be worth watching. It also looks suspiciously sensational and a bit of a copycat of Vine Of The Soul: Encounters With Ayahuasca, a very good doc out of Canada. Please universe, do not let ayahuasca become a fad panacea for Wall Street burn-outs and soccer moms. Please.

Yes, I have come across Vine Of The Soul and I did follow this with a post. I've downloaded it from their site and will watch it tonight.

Fad indeed we should resist, but surely the ayahuasca experience ought to be available to all and any? I dont think ayahuasca would appreciate your cynicism here, and i'm certain She wouldn't appreciate anyone trying to take ownership of Her! Just a thought.

I agree - ayahuasca certainly does not belong to me! Re what plants may "appreciate", I don't believe they are partial in this way. Intention matters. Set matters. But plant consciousness, if it exists, is far more universal than any stance we may take as individuals.
I did not mean to sound cynical, only skeptical of fads and of presentations which perhaps sensationalize a sacred medicine. But perhaps I'm ahead of myself. I'm certainly interested in watching the film.

This film is exciting! It would be amazing if it brought ayahuasca into the dialogue of your average american businessman or soccer mom. It's the masses of them that the media/advertisers/politicians cater to. Imagine if they were all drinking aya every weekend instead of booze; just how different of a place that would make our world.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...

It is indeed becoming a fad panacea.
The problem is its become another commodity. The ceremonies and medicine as well as the shamans have been successfully bought and sold. The west loves that!
We don't have burned out rich yuppies going to Indian reservation in the united states to eat peyote not because peyote can do the same healing as ayahuasca, but because those ceremonies aren't for sale.
Dorge is cooperatively owned and cooperatively run by various hyperspacial entities working as a collabertive sentience project for the betterment of sentient exploration.
