Thats quite the grab bag there Benzyme!

Isn't naptha basically the left overs after they've taken out all the good stuff? A residue if you will?

well in terms of fractionation, they'd actually come off first.
lower boiling points than some of the longer chained paraffinics; those would be what's left over, along with naphthenics.

no

for me its kinda like the hotdog thing. I used to love em until I found out what was in em.

its also kinda like the THH thing I used to think it was great until I found out what wasnt in it! lol

I'm not a chem guy I'm a knucklehead. For knuckleheads like me, naphtha is just part of the process. I do use bestine to pull with also. I imagine that has just as much in it. I got this extraction thing down pretty good now sooooo, maybe the less I know the better. lol

Thanks for making this kind of info available to all that may want it.

respectfully,

IH

hehe

this wasn't a post criticizing naptha, just a revealing tidbit about petroleum distillates;
I'm sure many have wondered in the back of their minds what's in VM&P

Interesting. I was a little surprised by the high percentage of unknowns, I wonder where they got their sample.

yeah, I'm with Icehouse on this one, though as long as the naptha appears to leave nothing behind when I evaporate test it I'm happy regardless.
