Hello fellow Nexians! Smile

I was wondering if anyone here has ever spent any time volunteering in South America? I am considering taking some time away from the States to try and do some good elsewhere. I have since spent much of my time considering different options, and I have somehow always some back to my first choice: South America. Of course, I have a personal desire to drink true Ayahuasca, but this is but a side mission of what I am hoping to be at least a couple months work of devotion to a cause.

As far as my own background, I have a B.A. in Psychology, but, unfortunately, no knowledge of the Spanish language. Due to the fact that I am not looking for a pay-to-volunteer opportunity, but, rather a more direct hand, this may cause some cause for concern, I think. I have been looking into different opportunities through this website: http://www.volunteersouthamerica.net/

Some require Spanish, but others do not, so it may not be entirely out of the question. Both my brother and my mother speak a bit of studied Spanish, and their old materials seem to be the most immediately viable personal option. I am not considering the final leave for some time in order to plan accordingly, so I am looking for any input anyone may have.

Has anyone done such a thing in the past and can comment on their experience? I figured this would be an ideal place to turn for like-minded folks who may have been through what I am considering. Thanks everyone!

STS is a community for people interested in growing, preserving and researching botanical species, particularly those with remarkable therapeutic and/or psychoactive properties.

ya know.. i've been looking for this type of opportunity as well... ... haven't done a ton of research into volunteering yet but all i've found are pay-to-volunteer "opportunities"... although some of them are too expensive.. ....like one of them was about $750/mth... that's prety excellent price to include food and lodging and ayahuasca.. considering that most retreat places are around $1500 for less than 2 weeks...
everything posted by godling is false information.. just imagination at work

I am learning not to search for eve anymore but to just 'be' with her for she is already the other half of my soul and one day we'll organically meet as we reach across the cosmos to one another..now comes the light of love

shine as bright as the flame in the pupil of my eye
