Last night I smoked a small dose of DMT about an hour before going to bed. I hadn't slept in over 24 hours and was having the usual head-space, more hypnagognic visuals than usual when trying to resort to sleep and throughout the day I had light intensity enhancement and was a bit zoned out, strange thoughts tend to come to mind.

The trip itself was benign, patterning s and a semi-clear vision of some teenagers at a part playing with some strange technology. I thought little of it, nice as it was. When lying in bed I had strange hypnagogic visuals, more colours than usual.

The event itself can be ill-described. I do not know whether I was awake or asleep, nonetheless it has the clarity in my mind of full-wakefulness. I remember thinking about how all our thoughts and senses are filtered, flaws in the filters give way to misconceptions but at the end of the day all mental filters are flawed, the true perception of the universe can only be reached with an observer without filters. Immediately as I thought this, I "knew" how to remove the filters and I automatically did so.

I was whirled into the place I sometimes appear in Ayahuasca trips, I am not a person, I have no conceptions of such things, I am solely the universe perceiving itself and I feel massive as if nothing else exists. I am in the midst of transforming "4D" (Only way to really describe different from 3d or 2d) universal walls and I spin frantically between them, as if floating through some spirit world. All filters are removed. I forget a lot of what had happened, there are many gaps. The next thing I know I am chanting in a specific way, my voice sounds not my own, I do this as if to help channel the energy or perhaps to ground myself but nevertheless it came from me without myself giving thought to it. As I chanted magnificent Mayan-styled glyphs flashed before me one at a time, whenever the next one came a sound would accompany it as if a stone was moving into place.

Between before the event and the event, I remember nothing. The end of the event and until waking, I remember nothing except thinking of how I should try to write about this the next day.

So many would be afraid by this, I found it natural, I moved with it as if I had done it before. If only I could remove these filters in day to day life, I mean where does this stuff come from? And why is their so little research on such phenomena?

Anyone had anything similar?

You just described some of my trips done late night tired or sleepy. When 'hyperspace' turned to kind of delirium or dream. Pretty cool actually. I saw evil children play with strange gadgets. I talked to myself in strange time loop like few second apart (hard to explain). I would describe it as kind of 'twilight sleep' with visions. It's different from sharp colorful hyperspace.

interesting...I think this effect gets stronger the more sleep depraved you are.
you could try staying up 1 or 2 days longer ...

Removing these "Filters" permanently is also possible i suppose...

well... not necessarily true... one can experience phenomena like this without depravity of sleep... ...i don't think it is limited to that, i mean to say.... it is a connection non-the-less

hi EquaL Observer, i have had similar experiences, finding myself in a diffrent realm, with symbols been shown to me, like mayan glyphs. also when you say;

"I found it natural, I moved with it as if I had done it before"

that resonated strongly with me when i first tried Ayahuasca. the place i found myself in felt so natural, like home, i even wondered how i got lost in the first place.

these days sometimes i can go to sleep and wake in the middle of the night and go into an altered state with out taking anything and i feel a presence and go on journies..

i think once you open doors to these worlds they never quite close again, may be thats why so many people find it easier to slip into altered states the more time goes by....

One of my best dmt experiences happened when i was asleep.

I had smoked 60mg and i could feel the effects wearing off and i slowly fell into a sleep. The next thing i'm round a camp fire with some sort of entities, i can't remember what they looked like but they weren't insectoid, more like a human form.
They gave me a cup of green liquid to drink and i knew this was going to be good lol.

Whatever was in the cup sent me to super-hyperspace, i was travelling at the speed of light or something. I could feel the speed and the exhiliration of the movement of travelling that fast. The euphoria was intense!! Best feeling probably possible lol. I think the green liquid must have been some kind of alien type dmt or something.

During the trip i woke up feeling totally shocked at how amazing it felt, i then realised i had been dreaming and just thought wow! lol.

There was a definite link to the smoking of dmt and falling asleep on the way down from it.

If I smoke spice when I'm really tired it pretty much puts me to sleep and its hard to tell if I'm dreaming or tripping, which really seem to be one in the same. Thats why I like smoking when I'm well rested and I have a lot of energy to bring into the experience. Plus I tend to remember more when I'm not going in tired.

Yeah I often have this kind of thing happen even days after an aya session. Luckily it only happens when I'm trying to sleep or sleeping, not while I'm in class, etc.

SWIM has an interesting experience to share:

One time, about a year ago, SWIM had several grams of freebase. He dissolved in solvent and put in a small crockpot to facilitate evaporation, cover open, fan blowing. The evaporation was very slow so he turned up heat to medium. It was late at night so he dozed off, right next to the crockpot (small room). The next morning, the crockpot was completely empty, the temperature was measured roughly 90C! It all vaporized away!

Now the interesting part is that the dreams SWIM had were unimaginably colored with a DMT taste. SWIM recalls travelling in a space with fluctuating light, and similar to what ^ one member said, playing with children. SWIM had a buddy who was about 3 feet away from the pot who, immediatelly upon awaking, exclaimed to SWIM the peculiar nature of his dreams as well. Certainly got SWIM wondering.

Maybe this is scientifically impossible (can DMT levels build up sufficiently with such slow and non-direct inhalation?), but it was certainly interesting to think about.

Interesting, lorentz. I wonder though if it could have been the smell of the vaporized spice that was subconsciously affecting your dreams.

I have and always had things like this happen to me in the middle of the night..it's weird..I know some sort of endogenous tryptamines must be involved..and probly other alkaloids like pinoline..maybe choline..prob a whole soup of chemicals..
