This was essentially what came out of SWIM's extraction using vinegar. She scraped it up and pushed it flat to dry some more several times, but it was always sticky goo that was a little difficult to weigh out. Very active though! PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

That description sounds about perfect. Next step would be to clean it up with MEK, methinks. This link is 69ron's post with the TEK. Under "Purification of Mescaline Acetate" he describes a wash with MEK on his "impure sticky amber mescaline acetate" -- sounds just like what you have! I don't think he mentions drying the MEK, but mescaline acetate IS soluble in water so there is a potential avenue for loss. If I had some I would do a solubility test for you, but you might want to dry it just to be sure!

If its that gooey.... you are probably wasting your time cleaning (mek) it. A similar thing happened around here. The mek was dried... it dissolved %90 of the goo and left behind a slightly off white powder that is/was probably pretty pure mesc. Was active...but yield was small. Usually the product from that tek looks like this (will add picture is a few minutes) When its dark like that it has allot of impurities... cleaning it will leave you with very little pure mesc...I would suggest just eating what you got and not wasting your time cleaning. Quote:Seriously....the picture's colors look like ass...sorry fro the bad lighting. The card its sitting on is stark white. The powder is actually lighter colored than straw... like the exact color of dry oatmeal. I think its about as white as you can get without a MEK purity step.... although all in all I think that if you want super clean mesc you should be using the hcl instead of vinegar..... maybe Fumaric acid (thanks narmz)
I have had the reddish goo before. If vendor used the whole cactus rather than just the skin... that could be part of the problem.
Of course the starting material is important.... if its low in mesc and high in other alks... your getting goo.
I use quite a bit less FILTERED water than called for in the tek (too much is worse than not enough) I premix the lime in while still dry and then add the water super slow and kneed it in with my hands as thoroughly as possible. I break down any little clumps and work it to make sure all the cactus come in contact with the lime and water. The end product is very doughy... hardly wet at all. Could probably form it into a ball.
I let it sit for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to make sure all the bassifying action gets a chance to happen and then I pour on the d-limo just a little more than enough to cover. I let that sit for a close to a day stirring several times. (even have my GF stir it once or twice while I work)
I use a coffee press and try and get out as much limo as I can (several pressings of a few spoonfuls at a time) even on the first pull.
I used to think more limo pulls would pull more impurities and cause more brown goo. But, I'm not sure now as I did 3 pulls on this one, salted it all together and still got light tan hardly sticky powder. The ratio of Mesc to other alkaloids is about 50/50 in most cases
Yeah you probably have 3 moderate doses there. I would however, suggest converting that to hcl or sulfate and cleaning with acetone/h20 (if Mek is hard to come by). Then you know exactly what your dealing with. Its always a surprise to see so much washed away, and nothing compares to clean Mesc

how do you come up with that number i wonder?? op, what is the ph of the material in the first post? i'd bet too much acid was used in salting. a common mistake in many "teks"

This could be it. SWIM used pure acetic acid when she got similar product. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

what do you think the ideal ph would be? I just use 5% vinegar. All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.

ideally a ph of 6-7 before the water/acid layer is decanted from the np you test the water not the np, a long pipette is handy here. also' cheap ph strips are cheap, and accurate enough

Yeah, I bought what I now know is a lifetime supply of PH tets paper. BFR (big F'n Roll) It was so cheap I thought it was a small pack, turned out to be a BFR (big F'n Roll) All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.
