Which of these psychedelics do you think is most likely to cause a bad trip. Which are you most scared of? I've had the worst trips in the past on shrooms but today I don't really have any fear for shrooms in quite big doses. But I'm always a bit apprehensive for DMT. I've only had one really bad DMT trip but I'm never totally fearless when taking a big rip of DMT. I don't take any chances with DMT. I only trip when I absolutely feel it's the right time. And I'm always fine. So what about you? ––––––

Mushrooms kind of scary over 6 grams. DMT kind of scary simply due to the rush of the body load and my classical conditioning around this - having my cat jump on me from a distance during several breakthrough trances hasn't helped. In a way they are all scary and all delightful. That's part of the appeal, the magic and the lack of physical addictiveness. No guarantees that the ticket you purchased will be for a fun ride. It's really all about set and setting. "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. The present moment, ultimately, is more than enough, a gift of grace and unfathomable value, which our friend and lover death paints in stark relief."-Rick Doblin, Ph.D. MAPS President, MAPS Bulletin Vol. XX, No. 1, pg. 2Hyperspace LOVES YOU

Most of my bad experiences were with acid. It may just be because I had one terrible experience and the other ones were sort of minor demonstrations of that. Anything said by this account, "Cosmic Rift", is complete and utter bullshit. In the event that it's not completely made up then it is a lie, exaggeration, or I am caught up in the act of role playing.

Recently, I don't seem to get bad trips at all, but my most epic of all "kill me now... no, like RIGHT NOW!!!" experiences came from LSD.

mushrooms. the way I see it, you can, for the most part, learn to "drive" the acid experience. the mushroom experience drives you. Shrooms. Its all about atmosphere though. 01:13:08 ‹Ellis DEmpty› I met the people living in my head... I disturbed them while they were sitting down at the table.... They were as shocked as I was!

I'd say LSD but out of hundreds of trips, there were only a couple really scary bad hellrides. 1 of them, I believe now, was probably some RC on a blotter. It ran off strange from the get-go. The other was scary and difficult.... but having made it through.... it brings a smile to my face to think about it now. All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.

It might be different for every individual depending on set/setting. i know some that swear mushrooms are..and others that swear lsd is Personally, a few years ago i would have said lsd..rough roads and rough driving. mushrooms were always so warm and funny. benzyme wrote:mushrooms.

I'd have to write in Marijuana. To me, Marijuana causes far more anxiety than any psychedelic I've ever done. I've never gotten into any sort of panic loop while on any psychedelics, but I've found myself having horrible, unbreakable anxiety loops while on nothing but Marijuana.

For me, LSD has been much more challenging than either psilocybin/psilocin or DMT. Having been crushed by the acid to subatomic dust and no longer using any traditional psych but DMT these days, I only trip when my mind-set is correct for a blast in hyperspace. Thus far I havent had a bad DMT experience but I fully appreciate how it could destroy me to a degree beyond that caused by acid. I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

A large dose of cannabis is very very very disorienting..cannabis has caused more anxiety in me than anything else at times. Mushrooms, ayahuasca and DMT all get very difficult at times..the duration of smoked DMT lends itself to clearer experiences in some ways becasue the anxiety is much easier to just sit and breath through and almost laugh instead since you know in 10 minutes you will be wondering why you even freaked out. Long live the unwoke.

Another vote for cannabis, hands down.
Large infrequent doses hit me in an almost deliriant-like fashion. Short term memory loss and the infamous anxiety stacked on top. I'm more scared of cannabis than any other psychedelic.
But among those listed, I would have to say mushrooms. Unless somewhere in isolated wilderness, I always go through an hour of hell as the experience warms up.

Cannabis is the one. At psychedelic doses, or even relatively high doses I'm almost guaranteed to have a rough ride. No doubt. Them again, I've never taken a really large dose of mushrooms. Welcome Home Mister_Niles. We've Been Waiting For You.

This thread is whack, there are way to many variables to answer this. Just my 2cents. “Right here and now, one quanta away, there is raging a universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien... 14 answers but no one participates in the poll. Can you please choose one. There is a reason I put up this poll. I need results and the more people participate the better. ––––––

I couldn't vote on the poll if i wanted to. There is no button to vote just results. “Right here and now, one quanta away, there is raging a universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien... DMTripper wrote:And can you please leave cannabis or other psychedelics out of it. Same here. No button. Maybe you could change the title of your post to make it more specific. Maybe: Which ONE of THESE 3 substances is most likely to cause a bad trip? No need to be cranky. Welcome Home Mister_Niles. We've Been Waiting For You.

5-meo-DMT scares the crap out of me, but I can't really say I've had a bad trip per se. I have had bad trips on LSD, mushrooms and DMT at various points. Although the "LSD" trip was questionable, all the other rough rides were set/setting/dosage related.
