Swim just did his first extract and it was a success!
He would rather not buy a crack pipe and doesn't want to screw up a changa preparation and was wondering if he could put down a layer of parsley then put his dose on top of that then finish off with a layer of parsley. The idea is to cherry the top layer and pull slowly. Will this work and if it will what proportions should be used? He was thinking about 3/4 of a bowl of parsley then the spice then finishing the top off with more parsley.

See I never understood burning an inert herb with spice. It's just less lung room in the end. I think using ash is much more efficent, as it protects the spice and doesn't add anything to the mix.

Yeah it will to an extent, but I always found with this method you burn a lot of the goods.

It's much more efficent to actually infuse the herb.

now when you say ash is that literal as in like ashes from a cigarette?

this totaly works, and well! ive used simular methods to this many times with HIGH success, the sandwich is basicly my favorite method. use a lot on the bottom and a lot on top...do not apply the flame any more than necessary, infact take the first hit or two to just get it warmed in and get the top a lil crispy and the spice all melty, then begin with gusto apply flame in a swift circular manner to get the very top nicely evenly cherried then cover top lightly without touching the burnyness and release the carb this will provide a slow toke with lots of air (key) hold as long as possible (double key), at least 10-30 seconds depending on your breath holding capabilities...should be strong...if still inside repeat it

IMO, it's easier to screw up the sandwich than to screw up changa prep + execution!

Parsley can be harsh try to find some mullein its the best

IMO parsley is not harsh at all. Its a clean, gentle smoke. Freely available and cheap. Highly recommended.
