How would you guys feel about smoking DMT at a shpongle concert???

Personally I don't think I would feel comfotable... Too many people, too much chaos. But if I ever was to do it I think Changa would be the best/easiest way to do it. And I think it would be much more enjoyable at an outdoor music festival compared to an indoor concert.

I saw Shpongle live for the first time at Rothbury 09 and you could smell just as much DMT smoke as weed smoke. And I'm going to be seeing them again in May, but it won't be at a music festival this time.

I think so long as you realize that it won't be the most comfortable nor pleasant experience, the decision is ultimately up to you. I'd imagine that it should be an immersive experience however you spin it.

Appart from the legal risk, I would say it can be too much chaos around.

If you want to do it though, I can imagine the best way could be either a changa joint (which would make for a less effective dosaging and therefore not too-strong experience, more like a psychedelic enhancer), or a pipe but only small amounts of dmt/changa.

Be sure to not have illegal stuff with you laying around appart from the dose being smoked.

To clarify, I'm not asking if I should smoke DMT at a Shpongle show. (I know it'd be too chaotic for me) I'm looking for your personal opinion on it, if you would do it or not, and maybe even a story or two.

It was surprising to smell that much DMT at the Rothbury show, but looking back on it that would have been a nice set & setting for a DMT trip.

But what was really surprising to me was smelling DMT smoke in the bathroom at an STS9 show. That did not seem appropriate at all.

I've been to three Shpongle shows in my life. Two were indoors and I would never have thought of smoking DMT/changa. But, one was outdoors in a field in the middle of a forest. I layed out a blanket closer to the back than the front, made sure I wasn't too near anyone, so I wouldn't offend them with the smell and went for it. It was very pleasurable and highly memorable. I did NOT breakthrough even though I tried. There was a part of me that knew it needed to stay in body and totally aware of surroundings.

Personally, I believe, just like everything with psychedelics in general and DMT in particular, the decision to consume DMT in public should be mainly driven and influenced by set and setting issues.

I am kind of an old timer when it comes to music, I have complete discographies of grateful dead, bob dylan, neil young, pink floyd, ect ect ect. over 10,000 songs in my library from the 60s to 90s. I have recently started listening to Shpongle, and one thiing I have noticed, is it would feel much better listening to it if i was on a RC or acid. simply because of the chemical feel, that artificial vibe, like made with computers feeling. and I think for a DMT trip, any kind of drumming, or tribal singing or chanting is the only thing that doesnt bother me when im on DMT. But, there is only one way to know if you will enjoy it!

Yeah i know! i missed it though... But, thats cool that it might be coming back for 2011. I live right next to the silverdome, so its only a few hour drive for me.

Shpongle will be playing at coachella this year and I may try. Maybe not though, thats a really crowded festival, and I will be tripping on mescaline that day. But in any case, I will report back!

Shpongle will also play at ozora in hungary, i think that would a much nicer setting to smoke at...

First time i smoked dmt was at the mainfloor at boom festival high as hell on mdma, it was nice but also killed most of the experience,

ive smoked changa while on acid and mescaline at a shpongle show...it was awesome...nuff said

I am going to Ozora this year for sure. A couple of my friends went last year and i wasn't able to go for a couple reasons. I can't wait!

If I were feeling rambunctious, I could go for changa at a Shpongle show.

Could be interesting but I already have all their recorded music memorized. When combining music with DMT or any other psychedelic I usually prefer something new, or at least old music with an improvisational twist. Dunno what a Shpongle show is like, does Simon spin new remixes or what? Seems like music that's already well known would get in the way of a DMT tryp.

Yeah i'd go with pandora's advise. If the set/setting and overall feel of it seems right while your at the show, then go for it.

I went to a shpongle show and brought a changa joint once. It wasn't very potent and i wasn't aiming for a breakthrough or anything.. we never ended up smoking it anyway because the vibes just weren't there. The show was indoors, cramped, and had drunk people everywhere yelling 'yoo0oO anyone got some deeeemsterss?!?' Oh well, still was a decent time without it...and besides..i lit the joint in a beautiful meadow the next day :]

I'd rather eat shrooms. Better than low doses of DMT and I wouldn't break through anyways on a concert.

I almost ALWAYS smoke to shpongle... I'd love to goto their concert, and if the mood was right I'd dose up, probably take some booms and even smoke a lil bit of changa throughout the show...

I dunno, I just can't get into tribal music without actually being around a campfire with drums... It just seems falsified to me...

I wouldn't personally smoke DMT at a show, Shpongle or anyone else. That's just me...

I plan on extracting some DMT and going camping somewhere in Texas in the early summer, hopefully. I think it would be absolutely wonderful at Enchanted Rock or somewhere like that. I'm telling you, smoking Spice in the summer at a lake or somewhere in nature is tremendous. I also plan on attempting mushroom cultivation soon with some of the teks I found in the Nexus and elsewhere. I'd like to take my wife but she hates the smell of DMT vapor. Hmmm...

The Manifestation Celebration is coming up in Dallas this soon; I don't have the time to go right now, but it looks pretty good. Alex Grey, Phuture Primitive, etc. is going to be there.
