I have always found dosing tricky with resin. Cacti vary so much in potency and making resin is in itself imprecise, so by the time these difficulties are compounded and I figure out the dosage for the particular batch, there's usually not enough left for a full dose! After having this happen 4 times, i decided to extract the mescaline, which is turning out to be more time consuming than I had hoped...
This doesn't help you much, though... given that i have had a fantastic experience on 7-8 grams of one resin and minimal effects from 22g of another batch, its sort of hard to advise you. What I decided to do was start with 10 grams, then after about 1.5 hours gauge the effects - if weak, i take 5-7 more; moderate, 3-5 more; strong, 2-3 more if I want a full on experience, or none if i am happy with the strength.
Vague and difficult to implement? welcome to resin... BTW I found the same thing with tea (obviously). In your post you seem to indicate that with tea you know the exact dosage - the same should apply to resin: if you know how much went in, and how much came out (the grams of resin), the math is quite simple. In practice, for me, it was never really so simple.
much luck and deep work,
JBArk,
PS i am guessing that tea kicks in quicker, as your stomach doesn't need to break down the resin, but rather extract it from the solution. By the same token, smaler pieces of resin are preferable, presenting more surface area for your digestive system to break down. I can't advise you about capsules - in fact, I cannot imagine trying to get resin into caps!! the resin I make comes out like rock candy. IOW, if your resin is liquid enough to put in caps, you have another BIG variable - how much water is left in the mix DRASTICALLY affects the weight...
