noone tried this mix for recrystallization? it would be good i think couse spice is very soluble in acetone that has a low bp,water is a very bad solvent for dmt andhas high bp compared to acetone so if you mix the two solvent at a certain ratio for example 40ml acetone and 60ml water..when you let it to evaporating,acetone will evaporate faster,lowing down the ratio of acetone/water and releasing some nice crystals of spice,that is just theory,who tried this mix?

sounds like an interesting idea

one could slowly add acetone till it dissolves dmt and hopefully not plant oils/impurities. The only possible problem I see is if even adding slowly the acetone would equally dissolve impurities and dmt and therefore not really cleaning it up (except for polar impurities which would stay in water, but those could be cleaned with a simple wash too)

In any case I appreciate experimentation attitude, and I support trying these things out. Do tell us if you try, maybe with pictures, whether it works or not the results should be posted!

a good point would be find the ratio of acetone/water that has a low dmt solubility something like 1g/200ml so you could saturate in with dmt and add a bit more of acetone to slow the crystals seeds formation..

Why do this when you can already crystallize dmt directly out of water without needing acetone? Just dissolve a dmt salt in distilled water, or dissolve freebase dmt in acid saturated distilled water, then slowly add a basic solution (sodium carb can be used) of water... dmt will precip and crystallize beautifully over the coarse of a few days without having to evap. Wash the remaining crystals in cold distilled water to ensure no sodium carb or acid contamination.
