I've been reading through the Changa subforum on the main board but haven't really found much insight on this. I apologize in advance if I missed this someplace else on the Nexus. Is there much difference in overall experience between consuming Caapi changa and consuming spice on a bed of Caapi leaves, particularly if it's being vaped? There is so little left from my last extraction that I don't want to loose even a microgram of that precious spice to poor changa mixture technique on my part. Does the act of crystalizing spice within the Caapi somehow change the outcome? Thanks for the guidance to this noob in the spice-world! Many people extract caapi and add that to the mix, making the MAOI properties stronger... So it wouldn't be quite the same as a bed of regular caapi leaf. There is also the convenience of having spice already absorbed in the leaf....and no I don't think you lose anything by putting it on leaf. At this point in my Spice life I don't weigh out my changa anymore, but can guesstimate by size (I keep my ratio by weight the same for all my changa blends 1:1 herbs/spice). I highly suggest trying to make your own changa! Thanks, acolon_5. I will try the extraction on my Caapi; I'm sure I can find a tek on that somewhere hereabouts. Is it safe to say that the un-concentrated Caapi doesn't really have sufficient MAOI's to make a noticeable difference? The only difference between caapi leaf with dmt and changa is the ease of use. I know a few members that will smoke a bowl or 2 of caapi leaf between/before blast off, this works just fine. Also when smoking changa through a bong, dont rip the bowl like you would weed, you want to just lick the changa with the flame to get it cherried, then pull slowly, if you burn it like a bowl of weed you will most likely just burn all your changa and get not so great results. kephra, check this link for caapi vine extraction https://wiki.dmt-nexus.m...lkaloid_Extraction_GuideThe effects are well noticed even with just plain caapi lef infused. If you would like a more concentrated caapi leaf experience then look up the 10x caapi leaf(ala dorge)

I was like, so little caapi leaf, no way it would have any effects. It does affect the experience! I was quite surprised and had to try it a few times to make sure it was not placebo. I find with just standard leaf 1:1 DMT It's closer to the regular DMT experience with a slightly slower onset and a more friendly architecture.
Once you get into 10x caapi the instant effects appear weaker as this slowing down of the journey is magnified. It's more suited to a session than a one hit breakthrough and by smoking hits every 10-15 minutes you can ease yourself into a headspace much more reminiscent of an ayahuasca brew than a DMT flash. Just be careful with this one as you can go on for hours and I've experienced some rather nasty headaches from overindulging. There's more bodily effects in general with higher harmala content also.

Thanks soulfood, acolon_5, and gammagore. Looks like 1:1 Caapi changa is in my near future while I get to soakin' for the enhanced 10x experience. Wow, I'm gonna need to do some more spice mining soon! Now, where's that package from Pedro when I really need it.... gammagore - hypothetically, what does one do with the alkaloids from the Caapi vine extract tek? I see the yield is a freebase so clearly it can be vaped. I haven't found much concrete advice via the search function, are there any good threads in the Nexus on this? Caapi extracted alkaloids can be used for pharma or can be taken sublingually prior to vaporizing DMT. Anywhere from 15-30mg sublingually about 20-30 minutes prior to vaporizing will slow and lengthen the experience much like with changa. I’ve been experimenting with higher sublingual doses (50mg or so) followed by sub-breakthrough DMT doses (about 20mg) and the experience is very much like a brief, moderate pharma experience – lasts up to an hour for me. gibran2 is a fictional character. Thanks, gibran2. Great tek by the way. The high sublingual Caapi extract coupled with the lower DMT doses sounds interesting - maybe a nice intro to the pharma/aya experience for those (like me) who haven't worked up to it yet.
