SWIM is making their first attempt at extraction. Lazyman's was chosen because they are forced to do it in their dorm room at college, so convenience along limited supplies are the key words.

Description of what they have done so far: 300mL water, 30g lye, 75g MHRB, 100g (150mL) naphtha are all currently sitting in a mason jar mixed.

Plan: Scale down the original 1lb extraction to 15% increments to fit container requirements, do one massive extraction after several days to conserve a limited amount of naphtha

Question #1~Is 3 days and 150mL of Naphtha enough to extract most of the product?

Question #2~How often/how vigorously should they mix the jars? Lazyman's tek suggests once a day in 20 min increments.

Question #3~Can too much mixing cause adverse effects to the end product?

Question #4~How long does 300mL (they have two mason jars going at the same time) of Naphtha take to evaporate?

Question #5~With 300mL of Naphtha sitting in an open container, are they at risk of getting caught due to the odor? (How much does Naphtha smell?)

Bonus~SWIM was having a discussion with a friend about the possibility of THC crystals navigating their way from inside one of their mason jars (they did not clean out the small amount of kief before starting the extraction process) through the whole process and making their way into the final product. Is this at all possible?

Logic Involved~DMT is often yellow, and SWIM's understanding of the process tells him that it is just a small amount of fat stuck to the DMT crystals. THC is fat soluble, therefore leading SWIM to believe that it is indeed possible to have THC in the fat stuck to the crystals at the end.

Please don't do extractions in dormitories.
Please consider adjusting your use of language... you are not "forced" to do an extraction - trust that DMT will be around for some time!
Have patience, choose with foresight, and extract in a safe, risk-free, worry-free, place.
To many people, DMT is an important tool, a "heritage", if you will, and so they are looking out for the sustainability of using/extracting... not just their personal explorations. Again, you are not "forced" to extract. Such thinking may also have a negative influence on the experience of ingesting DMT - please proceed with clarity and respect.
Busts and bad mistakes endanger the community and the project that is the Nexus and beyond.
Thank you,
L

I'm not gonna do what everyone thinks I'm gonna do and... FLIP OUT man...

College is a time for many many things... getting arrested for drug manufacturing is not one of them. But, just last year there were several college dorm dmt "lab" busts.
I'm betting that all of those unfortunate tryptamine enthusiasts wish they had waited.

Speaking of the college years:
Your world is probably as big right now as it has been your whole life. (if its not, you should think about that) Plenty of fun stuff out there that doesn't require you to build (what would be viewed as) a lab. Extracting looks really sketchy. There are stinky liquids, metal cans of solvent... lye. All sorts of stuff that makes people nervous. You gotta at least have a couple haters in your dorm... you think they are gonna quietly wonder what the smells are?

Point is:

Just not worth it. Go eat some mushies, cactus powder... find your self some conga drums and go chase some girls.

but seriously, we all the real reason I came to this thread:

the lazyman tek suggests using a bowl.... and evapping the solvent. 2 things you CANNOT DO on the down-low!

It is the most garbage tek out there.

Ok so I wrote a big old story on why this is a horrible idea then my computer deleted it... any way

PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS IN A DORM ROOM

Many have tried and many have failed this will almost for certain draw negative attention your way and to our community.

If you must do this then rent a storage unit, they are cheap and at least its not in a dorm room....... HORRIBLE IDEA

I didn't see this before but here it is:

• We are against people extracting or using substances in student dorms/parents/shared houses or any other unsafe place or where the owners or roommates do not agree with what is being done. We do not give tips on 'stealth' teks. Do not do it unless the owner of the place accepts his/her full responsibility on the actions being done. If you dont have such a place to extract now, be patient, many have waited years and years for the right moment.

It might help to read the Attitude page and this forum to get a general idea about what you should and shouldn't do. This topic is not locked.
