I haven't been around much lately and I regret that. This post is going to be some what scattered, but I just need to vent and you people are the most likely to understand.

I've been feeling pretty down about my country (and well pretty much most of humannity) in light of recent events.

Today at work someone had printed out Sarah Palin's map with cross hairs on it....they circled Gabbie's name and had an arrow pointing at it.

I allowed myself to become so angry that here I am am 5 hours later and I'm still upset that people could be so hateful.

I consider myself to be a largely normal member of society. College educated, advanced science degree, normal job, hell I eve invest (gamble) in the stock market. As I read news articles around the internet I find that I'm always drawn to the comments...and then I'm always depressed after readying them. I find that I walk away wondering if there are any moderate people left in the world.

That's why it's nice to log in here once in a while and find a group of normal compassionate people. Oh sure I've seen arguments and disagrements here...plenty, but it never seems to degrade to name calling or "second amendment solutions".

Ironically the rest of society would consider those that hang out at a DMT forum to be the wacko's...so very very ironic.

Thank god for normal people like ya'll. You give me reason to have hope for humanity...

Cheers

Natural selection sucks. It's the reason why we're brought into this world and it's usually the reason why we leave this world. It's hard to be passive and unassertive in a world where you have to devour other living organisms in order to survive.

This is a touchy subject.

*group hugs*

we can win this fight... whatever it is we're fighting. we can.

Newfound - you can do two things though to make it better - hurt and kill as little as you can, and help create life and support growth whenever and wherever you can.

and yes, this place is great. I compare all the ppl I meet out there to the standards this place has set Razz

Hey man I feel the same. This place is a retreat for sure. A way point that won't, imo, last forever. It's sure nice while it's here though. Such considerate minds. A place unlike any I've seen before.

I think it's raised beyond doubt that many (if not most, or all) members in here feel that this community and the people in it mean alot to them in one way or the other. It's a great place with great people making it a great place. It makes my belly go warmEmbarrased

Joedirt. Things have been pretty heated recently, haven't they? TV, radio and newspapers and magazines add to these negative feelings. Seek a little quiet alone time in nature when you can. The energy of live plants around you helps and can reduce some of the stress and tension. Always remember that there are those around you that love and support you, even if you cannot see them. This nexus is a great place to find some of those people. Thanks for sharing Joedirt. And thanks to the many others on this site who make it so great and actually make it a community.

"I don't know how to feel about living in a world where you have to devour other living organisms in order to survive."

Newfound, one thing the mushroom has taught SWIM is that a lot of this is about the exchange and sharing of energy and consciousness. The mushroom has told SWIM that it also has a psychedelic experience at it is consumed by us! It trips as we trip. This started SWIM thinking that many plants might create fruit for this very reason, to be ingested into different animals for a mutual exchange of consciousness. This is why many fruits look and smell so appealing. So the mushrooms that are noticed growing out in nature and actually get consumed are the lucky ones as they get to have this experience. Perhaps this is true as well for fruits, vegetables, legumes, etc. Raw food definitely has a different energy to it than cooked food. Maybe this is one reason.

Mitakuye Oyasin - A Lakota Sioux Prayer. There is a simple but profound Lakota prayer: Mitakuye Oyasin. These two words mean All My Relations or We are All Related. To pray this prayer is to petition the Great Creator on behalf of everyone and everything on Earth. Mitakuye Oyasin honors the sacredness of each person's individual spiritual path, acknowledges the sacredness of all life (human, animal, plant, etc.) and creates an energy of awareness which strengthens not only the person who prays but the entire planet. It is a prayer of respect, honor and love for all of mankind, and for the Earth. It refers to the interconnectedness of all beings and all things. We are all interconnected. We are all One.

I pray this prayer for all of us.

Let us declare nature to be legitimate. All plants should be declared legal, and all animals for that matter. The notion of illegal plants and animals is obnoxious and ridiculous.

All my posts are hypothetical and for educational/entertainment purposes, and are not an endorsement of said activities. SWIM (a fictional character based on other people) either obtained a license for said activity, did said activity where it is legal to do so, or as in most cases the activity is completely fictional.

Don't say it won't lastCrying or very sad
I don't see the human integration changing it's acceleration anytime soon. Unless there's a human extinction event that is. Me being an optimist, I think that people will eventually be free of work and material worries. Just think about it, when everything is automated and we have almost unlimited resources what can people do? People will do what they love and have passion for. I see this happening, whether or not we get help from other entities.
P.S. If this particular 'retreat' (Coolthe only one I know of), gets shut down, I know I won't be the only one in line to bring it back. The nexus may go down in many years, when DMT is world-wide known and all available info is in the wiki. But, by then, you won't need this 'retreat'. You will meet acquaintances that are educated on the subject matter. I've already noticed a significant rise in DMT knowledge since I first tried it.

I feel as if more (less ignorant) people are becoming moderate, but there are always people who will not listen to both sides. They will shut out arguments because they have a pre-conception. Our older, more polarized, generation is stuck in their ways. But, society is evolving. Every new generation is more tolerant is my eyes.

Nature time, a hot bath, some hugs or cuddles... there are lots of positive things happening in the world, too. I try to keep my energy focused there. I used to read the news online for hours everyday until I realized... it just made me feel bad, and disempowered. It's important to be aware of what's going on, but just focus on the good and spread your own sphere of goodness. Smile at someone you maybe wouldn't smile at... start there and watch it grow. Smile

Much love! Good to see you here still.

Don’t over-generalize! I’m 50, and there are at least a few Nexus members older than myself. I even introduced DMT to a friend who’s almost 70 (she didn’t like it, but at least she was willing to try).

Many people of all ages are willing and eager to grow and experience new things.
