A few questions about a/b before swim tries the process tomorrow Options

Hello everyone,

swim has read the dmt handbook very thoorghly and has thier head around the technique and concept. They will be trying with a small test batch tomorrow I have posted once on here before and got a great response. I hope this one goes as well as the last

1) Swim will using empty,clean, and clear wine bottles instead of hdpe jugs. Should swim be concerned that the liquid from the acid bath will be so hot as to break the bottles?

2) During the pulls the handbook states to be cautios of pressure build up during shaking. What should swim use as a lid for the bottles. They are screwtop so I could use that or a cork. Is the pressure buildup so rapid that I should be concerned about the bottle breaking with the screwtop or cork bursting out?

3) While I did post this question in my last topic a definative answer was not given. Is ronsonol lighter fluid okay to use instead of shellite? I was informed (via the forum) ro refer to a site which showed its chemical conpound but didnt say if it was okay. I understand that I should test it on clear glass and if it evaporates without residue then it good but has anyone triied the solvent and is it fine to use?

4) I kind of feel like this is a cheeky question and my maths are not great. If swim wants to make 0.5 gram then what are the amounts I need to scale down the caustic soda and shellite to? I understand I could try to do it with my own answers but want confirmatiin olease

Thank you for your time to read over these. I do appreciate it. swim is pretty excited about tomorrow and just wants to shore up these final questions

1- just wait for liquid to cool before putting in the bottle

2- dont shake! stir/swirl instead, then no need for a cap

3- FAQ

4- Scale down proportionately. Calculate 1% yield, therefore 50g mimosa. FAQ also has more info regarding ratios of chemicals, size of pulls, etc

Be very aware that heat will shatter that wine bottle. Go look for distilled water in the supermarket, it will most likely come on a HDPE jug, if not look into plastic milk jugs. Avoid non-borosilicate glass if possible,
