So I ordered a kilo of dried San Pedro cactus from Celestial Source (.com). I extracted the first 200 grams using a slightly modified version of 69rons stb. It was pretty frustrating doing a step and then waiting ten years before I could embark on the next so I obtained an amount of lye in promise of Phlux's mesc tek (AB wet tek) being swifter.
I hopped on the nexus chat just before starting, and GratefulDad advised me to stick with a dry tek and just basify the living shit out of my cactus with lye, extract with xylene, and salt with HCl.
I hope that other's considering trying mescaline may be helped by this post. I have found mescaline to be very similar to LSD, a substance that is increasingly difficult to find. This means that with many mescaline containing cacti still legal, I now have a steady source of pure, clean, good psychedelic. I didn't enjoy DMT whatsoever when I tried it, nor did I find it at all profound, so you can imagine how pleased I was when I thoroughly enjoyed a substance that I coaxed out of nature.
Okay, so on with the tek!
1. Dissolve one and one half parts lye in 50 parts water (300 g in 2000 ml)
2. Add one part dried and powdered trichocereus pachanoi (400 g)
3. Add one part xylene or limonene (400 ml) - xylene is carcinogenic and naaasty, limonene will give ya emulsion problems.
4. After about 3 hours, Decant solvent.
5. Adjust water to Ph 5-6 with HCl. Add water to solvent, shake vigorously if you are using xylene, you want the solvent to be in contact with the acid water for about 5 minutes. (4 drops of 31% HCl in 100 ml H2O) - you can also use white vinegar [5% acetic acid], but there's more chance of oiling out.
6. Seperate the aqueous [lower] layer with a sep funnel or gravy seperator or a glass and sleight of hand, return the xylene to the cactus, pour your aqueous layer into an evap dish and put it to dry at or below 150 F.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 two more times, or until no more mescaline yields.
Dosage starts around 150 mg, can safely eat 10 grams or more.
So that's it folks! Hope someone finds this useful. I really liked this tek because I started it around six p.m. and had a nice fat 750 mg crystal in my oven the next morning...yummy! I hear yield is usually around 1% so back to the jar for more pulls!
