so last night SWIM tried his first extraction which was Q21Q21s vinegar-lime-naptha extraction.
using 80gs of mimosa and 60+ grams of lime followed by 2 80ishmL pulls of naptha

the only mistakes i think SWIM made were, possibly not making the water hot enough in the first step.
but he let it sit for an hour or so.

and the first naptha pull SWIM didnt let sit very long, as well as spilling a little in the sink (never using a round bowl again) during the second pull.

SWIM put the 2 pulls together in a mason jar and in the freezer.(it was closed during the night, but now its open)

SWIMS questions are does not having hot enough water in the first step make a huge difference?
and SWIM has in his jar small white circles and pieces, must be spice right?
theres a good amount of naptha in there still, probably about 140-150mL
should SWIM leave it in the freezer? or strain it through a coffee filter?
how long is it going to take to evap?

The water doesn't need to be too hot in the first step, it just help.
As long as the naptha is nice and warm around the bark then it's good.

If the white circles are round, big and only in a couple spots, they are most likely ice (been fooled many times) if they are small and evenly distributed they are likley spice.

Hopefully your lime and naptha were good and it will work, if it didn't then that would be something to question.

i hope that what i have isnt ice! i dont think it is because they are all pretty small and it covers most of the bottom but idk im not sure, ive never seen white spice.
should i strain it through a coffee filter? and let it dry like that already? its been in the freezer for 13+ hours

If they are stuck then you can definatly pour off the naptha, then just flip the container upside-down and tilted a little and the naptha should evaporate in 10-20 minutes. (much longer if there is some ice in there)
If they are floating around you can usually still just pour them off, just slowly. If they are pouring with the naptha then the coffee filter would be the final option. They are small so sometimes they get stuck in the filter for SWIM so he avoid that if possible.

You should try to evap your naphta until it's saturated and put it back in the freezer, more should crash.

i ended up straining it with a coffee filter a few minutes after that last post,
i ended up with less then 200mg.
but im glad that i got somthing out of my first try and its really fluffy and sparkly.
i just dont have a mg scale for weighing me a dose
im probably going to do another round tonight with 100gs of bark this time hopefully il do better
