I was wondering which entheogens you find most purifying?

I've used mushrooms countless times and each time was incredible, but that afterglow always wore off very quickly, i've tried lsd a couple times and it was great but it's not easy to grow in my bedroom like mushrooms.

Smoked DMT in my experience seems to go deeper than both of these & the afterglow in the days/weeks following a trip lasts longer, although i'd say the experiences can be much harder to integrate due to their briefness & intensity, but i also find they change me more than any other entheogen because of that same intensity.

I used to use mushrooms in a mostly extroverted manner, so didn't really explore how deep they can really go, i only recently fully dived into a silent darkness trip on mushrooms which went very deep indeed, it was pure medicine, but i also think the DMT i used in the previous weeks affected how deep it went, so it still holds the crown in my heart as the king of entheogens for now.

For me, even a single smoked DMT dose can leave me with one of the best afterglows I've experienced for at minimum a week afterwords. It's not too unusual to have it last even longer. Rue can be pretty good also, I have no experience with the vine to compare though.

Mushrooms give an afterglow that lasts days, as with most psychedelics in my case (including 2c-x's)

Dissociatives also give a fantastic afterglow, but they aren't something I'd want to do frequently. Ketamine doesn't give me a hangover at all but it's pretty addictive. DXM isn't addictive in my case, but I'm hungover the day after. By day 2 the afterglow is all that remains.

The best thing in my experience is a healthy diet, exercise and lots of water. You are what you eat they say.
Disclaimer: All Entheogens and other research materials are not for Human consumption! I have researched by text the effects of consuming such things in case of accidental consumption. I have never actually consumed any of the materials I speak about and it should be assumed I'm speaking hypothetically. I have a wild imagination.

Hands down...a flood dose of Iboga. No contest. A full brain defrag and system detox. My initiation provided me with an afterglow lasting months, and in a few life areas I may have changed for good, if on a subtle level (things like depression, sociability, materialistic orientation, attitude towards seeking experiences and opportunities).

I did yes. Three flood dose experiences (TA, root bark, pure Ibogaine - in that order), but my initiation was by the far the deepest and most profound experience, and in fact I would go as far to say it was one of my most important peak life experiences I've experienced thus far. Unfortunately I can't recommend the 'healer' I used the first 2 times, as we had a big fall out over the amounts he was charging, and he left threatening curses of black magic and Voodoo (he definitely has a few issues and I don't think he should be healing anybody). I think post uni I will go to Gabon and experience a Bwiti initiation there. A Nexus acquaintance experienced this for himself in November, and it sounds like he had a very amazing time.

The iboga flood-dose is something i yet have to experience.

Of all my psychedelic experiences there are a handfull that stand out and had a long lasting impact on me.

Two of them would definately deserve the title 'purifying'.

They where both with ayahuasca, but each with a different recipe.

The first one of them was with cielo-vine, chacruna, mimosa and chaliponga. Especially the chaliponga had a huge impact. I took 20 grams of it, wich is a huge dose wich i didn't know at that time.

There are many things i remember from that brew, but the most telling part of it, was that during the peak, i didn't know anymore whether i was dead or alive. There where moments that i realy thought that i had died and that the thing left of me at that time that was 'i', was my spirit.

The second one was with a combination of ayahuasca and mushrooms.
I had eaten a lot of shrooms then. I don't know how much exactly, but when the first ones that had entered my stomach started working i was still chewing the last ones, so i must have been eating shrooms for at least half an hour then.

The effects also lasted very long: 20 hours after it began, i was still not fully back to normal and seeing coloured web's everywhere.
The first few hours where realy, realy terrifying because i obviously had taken waaay too much shrooms and making myself puke them out was not an option anymore, also because i just didn't know how to do that anymore.
There was some sort of primal survival instinct that took over though. I normally would have panicked in those circumstances. But there was something deep inside of me telling, knowing realy:"if you start panicking now, you're totally lost" If panick would have gotten grip on me in thát state there's no telling what would have happened.
Later on i experienced the happiest moments of my life. not just because i started to realise that i was gonna survive this thing, but most of all because i saw, learned and experienced what the big secret of living a good life is: There can be no greater succes in life than to fully love it, to fully love this life and this world. There's not a billion dollars or euro's that could top that, no big house, big car and not the horniest sex imaginable in the world.

Fully embrace life. That's all you need to do to realy live it. I can remind myself of that in the darkest of circumstances.

Even though i said that DMT is the king i still love mushrooms so much, they're my first love, not to take away from the beauty of extracting & growing DMT crystals but the way you can just pick them, boil em & drink the tea, it's so natural.

5-MeO-DMT. Without a question

4-AcO-DMT is a clear second

Despite a number of intense breakthroughs, DMT has not yet yet been that much purifying for me. It's beautiful though, unfortunately for me not introspective enough.

For me it's got to be ayahuasca, either in combination with DMT or mushrooms or both.

Iboga definately had similar qualities, although I didn't get a full dose of it but it seemed to leave me very content. Now I'm a little older and wiser I may have to try it again, it's just a matter of finding the time.

I dunno...lately I have fallen back in love with mushrooms..and taken them about 4 times in the last 2 weeks..though I had ayahuasca last night as well and that was interesting becasue I was able to compare the effects of the caapi with the effects of the mushrooms..also had my first experience in the last 2 weeks combining aya, mushrooms and changa and that was freaking unbleievable..

Mushrooms do something to me that ayahausca does not do. Mushrooms have a sense of humour..and I love that about them. I feel like I am me again, the old me that didnt give a shit so much about all the crap that cuts us off..I cant take it seriousily anymore, it all just seems funny..and that is a good thing. I will take them once a week again now.

..though I will still drink ayahuasca weekly as well as I feel I need her voice..she is less comical..a less playful class to attend. Both are so healing..

Also the ammount of changa I have been smoking has been pheonomenal..and it feels great! Smile Minxx and I will sit late at night and smoke and smoke in the dark with crystals and go for like an hour or more..those sessions are soo amazing..

These 3 entheogens are all irreplacable in my life. I cant say which is more purifying..they all just have a place in my heart..

Then there is torch.....
Long live the unwoke.

I am gonna second what Bancopuma said, Iboga. I have done 3 flood doses. The first time was my most powerful, and it cured me of a seven year opiate/opioid habit, of which half was on methadone. I quit smoking cigarettes, eating sweets, and drinking sodas. I only used psychedelics and weed for the most part for a full five years. I did drink on occasion, but after iboga it was easy to see when i was starting to throw anything out of balance. I did become injured and get on pain meds, and used iboga again to detox when I was healed.

But it is a full reset in a full flood dose. One can literally start with a blank slate, and whatever new programming you afford yourself can become the new you. Iboga is probably the one that sticks around the longest in actual duration, so it really seems to help you solidify the feelings and integrate the experience more fully than some of the shorter experiences I have had on other things.

Aside from that, some of the most powerful spiritual (not sure if that's necessarily cleansing) experiences I have had, have been on LSD (which consequently didn't happen for me in huge doses, until after iboga). And they have since occurred for me on mushrooms, LSD numerous times, ketamine, and ibogaine. I am new to ayahusaca, and have only taken extracts of harmalas by themselves, or smoked/snorted DMT by itself, so I can't comment on that one.

YES!!!

I always think that with mushrooms but never really recall it afterwards as a key factor, but that's exactly it. I become past and present and all that is me comes out to play. Like regaining innocence without compromising who you are now.

Last time i took the mushroom it was clearly telling me it was to be used as medicine at that dose once a week, i didn't listen as i'm still going with once every few months, but i can definitely see how you could dose once a week.

Ibogaine sounds very interesting but i think i'll stick with mushrooms, cannabis & DMT, i'll await whatever else the universe places on my path, i have been hearing a lot about Lady Salvia recently... mescaline is also intruiging especially with the extraction teks on this site.

There is nothing like straight Caapi (without DMT). Working with Ayahuasca has been an amazing tool to resolve all sorts of childhood trauma that left me with horrible depression, anxiety, and self-destructive behaviors for most of my life. Caapi is a teacher. She taught me how to live... really LIVE, be alive, thrive, and help myself grow.

I also reached a point this summer where I quit drinking admixture (after The Great Barley Disaster), and months of working with straight Caapi have been just as healing AND visionary as Ayahuasca with admixture... just without the ping-pong noises and closeups of weird creatures moving through my body. Pleased
