Hello, anyone know if the Trichocereus "chiloensis" contains mescaline and if is possible to make any extraction?
Thank you,

According to this book :

https://archive.org/stre...cies_2014_Light_djvu.txt

it says :

Trichocereus chilensis (Colla) Britton & Rose

AKA buisco

Candicine (trace) Cortes et al. 1972
"no triterpenes or alkaloids" "essentially devoid of

alkaloids"
p-Sitosterol

Unidentified material believed to be a straight chain alcohol
[mp 82-82.5° [a] D -11°] (also described in this paper as a long
chain aliphatic alcohol and an aromatic alcohol.) It was thought
to resemble n-Nonacosan-10-ol but mmp was depressed.

Dierassi et al. 1956a [Material from Chile]

P-O-Palmityl longispinogenin (01ean-12-ene-3|3,16p,28-
triol-3-palmitate) in 1% yield. Morales & McLaughlin
1989 (Collected in Chile)

[Agurell 1969b (Obtained via European commercial sources)
reported it devoid of alkaloids but specifically did not look for
quaternary amines like Candicine]
