I'd like to put down a huge list of movies, but I believe these are my two best choices. If you have Netflix, Ghost in the Shell is available on Instant Watch; I prefer the original from 1995, but it has since been updated with enhanced animations and graphics -- both are available on Netflix anyways. And the Fountain completely floored me, if you've never seen it then rent the DVD asap. The FountainGhost In The Shellserenity now ...insanity later

Wow, some great movies here plus some ones i need to check out...
I'd say out of all the ones listed that 'The Fountain' had the hardest impact on me, for about 3 days after all i could think about was death, in a good way
'Moon' is a good film aswell, if you really get into it there's a certain scene that will just floor you emotionally.

Yeah The Fountain and Moon are both great movies.
The Fountain was directed by the same guy who directed Requiem For a Dream so check those 2 out in the same month to get some perspective into his style.
Moon is really cool because it is so minimal but has such an impact. Another 2 movies along those lines are My Dinner With Andre and The Man From Earth. I just checked out The Man From Earth a few months ago and I think it is definitely a movie a nexian would be into. Would've suggested that right from the beginning if I remembered.

The absolutely stunning Blueberry / aka Renegade - possibly the best trip visuals ever made in any movie...
The Fall - visually stunning and a cute tale - try and get a hd copy its worth it...

Enter The Void by Gaspar Noe. If you missed it at the cinema (it did have a limited release earlier this Autumn) then give it some respect and wait for the DVD/Blu Ray release - its full on visual and aural trip cinema and has to be experienced if you even have a vague interest in psychedelics, life, death, and the universe. Lots of good films listed here. I definitely recommend 'Enter the Void' as well. I was fortunate to be able to see this one in a theater recently. Here's a few of my other favorites: Naqoyqatsi/Koyanisqantsi Evangelion 1.11 (2.0 in theaters next month) 2001 Mulholland Dr. My mind craves nectar day and night.

Oh, and BARAKA by Ron Fricke. Easily my favourite film of all time. The most beautiful and precise time lapse footage of our world shot on 70mm large format (before the days of iMax and before digital really exploded - and yet perfect for repro on Blu Ray). There's no words, no verbal storyline, just a 90min journey across the planet looking at the natural world and the earth as dominated by mankind. Its unpatronising in its presentation and universally understood by anyone, anywhere. We could show this to aliens and they would understand the last 5,000 years of our planet. Watch this stoned and it will change your life. I am fully aware of the magnitude of this claim, and so you'll believe me when i say i mean every bit of it. "buy the ticket, take the ride" HST

renegade aka blueberry is an amazing movie.
its a movie. "not a documentary" but a movie on the use of ayahuasca, amazing movie,
if possible to find it another great movie is mirror mask by the jim henson company.

Just watched "The Jacket" wow that's a good movie, I've never really been a big fan of Adrien Brody but this movie and Predator's were great. Also got a chance to see Moon which was good as well.
