Once a cake's started pinning, will it do any harm to just let it be for a week or two before birthing to the fc?

Is there a way to stall it for that length of time (temp etc)?

If it were in a jar with holes in the lid, would it be better/worse to cover these holes for the waiting period?

Thanks!

i know that the growth can be stalled for at least 3 days in the fridge once pinning is initiated, but i dont know about 1-2 weeks since i've never waited that long. i don't think the pins would fruit after that long, but i could very weel be wrong since i'm only speculating. If there is only very slight pinning, then it might work, but i can't say for certain. If you decide to experiment, please post your results so that we can learn from it.

i dont think covering the wholes would be a good idea. the myc needs to breathe to stay alive, so i wouldn't recommend it.
