I just finished watching the documentary and overall I enjoyed everyone's ideas except for one.
I am quite confused as to why they need to perpetuate the pineal gland theory?
We've discussed this here on the nexus and I thought we came to the conclusion that it's bunk?
Why hasn't anyone told their crew...?

when you hold a doctoral degree in philosophy in a field, and propose a theory, the last thing you want to do is admit you were wrong....

the theory is anecdotal, and following the central dogma of biochemistry, the evidence to support it is lacking.

Some of those reports head me quite teary... in a good way of course.

It was actually better than I expected but I do agree folk should try to forget these theory's at least for now as the real potential of this amazing thing is not in the physiology but the experience itself.

I have to say though, I can't for the life of me take Joe Rogan seriously Smile

For me it was worse than expected. I hoped for a documentary that I can show to someone who doesn't know anything about this stuff and be sure that they will come away from it with an overall understanding of the subject. But this doc is again just preaching to the choir.

And there was too much of those fluffy computer animations. Does the DMT universe really look like a screensaver? I seriously doubt it.

What do you mean? What's wrong with that theory? Doesn't the pineal gland have all it takes to make DMT? I thought that was a fact but not that it actually did.

no, it doesn't.

it lacks an mRNA transcript for INMT. it has one for 5-HOIMT, which converts other molecules, but it doesn't express INMT.

But Joe Rogans idea and therefore a fact is that the pineal gland is the source of dmt that has been proven to be in our bodies.

I am infinite sarcasm. Cos I don't have what it takes to pull this joke off.

Strassman has said that his pineal gland thing was only theory that people got carried away with . And he regretted that happening .

though people have problems discerning hypotheses/theories from established evidence in general.

I liked that they talked alot about ayahuasca..except it seems they didnt do too much research..ayahuasca seemed to have been summed up as just oral DMT..

I also wished there had been more with Kathlene Harrison..she is one of my favorites..

Well I don't believe he said this in the documentary, or am I mistaken?

I like how at the end he walks off stage and you can see the people working behind the stage and all the equipment.
I wondered if that was a metaphor for spice allowing you to see the inner workings of our reality?

Haha, yea I thought it was very good and that some of the computer animations were actually really good. I love the description of the experience they painted. And they left Joe Rogan at the end for perfect suspension of disbelief.

I had the same, i really felt/remembered my trips when i heard some of them describing the experience, especially the dude who described the humming sound that increases & increases until it totally shatters your identity to nothing.

I think he is entertaining but i heard him refer to himself (not in the film) as 'the spokesperson for DMT'
Just cause of that one radio interview?

Personally, I think this film will be a great addition to the DMT knowledge library.

If nothing else it provides an easy way to introduce your friends/family to the more scientific(and spiritual) aspects of this wonderful entheogen. Without being to wishy-washy like alot of the N00bTube videos Pleased

Edit: Plus you get to see Alex Grey talk about DMT!!!!

it's DNA>mRNA>protein, but what's your point?
mine is that the mRNA transcript is absent from the pineal, therefore no INMT protein is expressed there

I think this was still in production when I got deployed. Does anyone have a good link to view it? Or am I going to have to torrent it? Or god forbid actually buy it?

I've read the book and keep it proudly displayed as bathroom reading material Smile Is there any new information/reports in the documentary?
