endlessness- im assuming you took those pics. they are amazing.

yeah man I took most of those pics except the one with the tibetan monks in dharamsala, which my ex gf took, I was too busy having fun turning the prayer wheels round and round Very happy

The pics are of different places of Brazil, India and Morocco.

BTW olympus, awesome tatoo work and great skydive/basejump pics! That must be so amazing to do. So I have a question, you know when you fall fast, and you feel this 'cold' in the stomach? Do you also get that feeling skydiving? Or maybe just for first seconds?

You only get that feeling the first seconds, when skydiving. After that it's just like you're flying or swimming through very thick air.

bananna- thats pretty frikin cool work you get to do. my ex gf was working on her masters in anthropology and was digging in alaska for a year. she would tell me about her digs and i was just fascinated. its amazing that there could be artifacts sitting right on the surface in that field!
how was the ruderalis? ive never gotten to smoke ruderalis and here its kind of weak and sleepy.

endlessness- the feeling your describing is a big part of the rush in base jumping. although the more you base jump the less you notice or even get that feeling. mostly its a blast to look straight at the ground for whats called "ground rush". this is most fun on really low freefalls of sub 100 meters. the ground comes up at you very quickly and you mind has a hard time believing your not going to impact. ive had a few jumps where i felt ive gone too far and theres no way my parachute can deploy in time judging from how fast the ground is coming. its just a perception game. the mind has a hard time understanding what its seeing.

in skydiving that feeling of falling is mostly in peoples heads because they are expecting it. actually its just a matter of physics. in a skydive when you leave the aircraft your already moving between 90-110 knots so as you exit, that speed of forward travel gradually transitions to rate of decent. as opposed to a base jump where your start from a stationary position in space. some newer jumper say they can feel their stomach dropping on skydives when they exit but again i dont see how that is possible. i think its psychosomatic. plus like polytrip said you step into a collumn of rushing air that can be quite confusing.

base jumping is truly silent. its the most peaceful feeling ive ever known. the first moments after you run off a cliff something very strange and magical happens. the air becomes almost sweet smelling and a soft pillowy goo kind of engulfs me. once your airspeed picks up this goes away and i think a lot of base jumpers miss this occurrence from being over loaded with the intensity. you have to be able to be very aware and still. i found smiling helps.

one day i will write about the remarkable similarity's between taking these substances like dmt and ayahuasca and base jumping. the more i do both the more they seem alike.

sorry buddy didnt mean to write you a book in answering your question Laughing i just get all excited talking about these things.
