Quote:Hey clouds, i have yet to try and brew with MHRB but i have been reading in the aya section and i think (not posative it was a while back) i recal ms_manic_minxt saying to use MHRB you could just do a cold water extraction and filter out all the gunk that settles to the bottem of your jar because the sedimint could make you feel sick.
I guess I will try the traditional style (hot water) for my first concoction. Since I have no experience with MHRB or Rue (or DMT), I guess Ill try the more popular methods, once I get familiarized with these plants and their different preparations, Ill experiment with the cold water.
Quote:the rue is easy to clean up and it helps i have drank raw rue tea and man did that suck
You felt like vomiting instantly after you drank it or did you have a bad time during all the experience?
(I care little, at least this particular time about my own physical comfort. I am searching for visual content.... I am not a masochist though, but I am expecting already to visit the bathroom quite often during the experience .... hopefully not the first hour? I'm OK with the
purge and all that it involves... at least these first times)
I appreciate your help very much, jackstraw. Thanks and Good luck to you too.

Quote:20g of MHRB is *way* too much for two people. The general safe beginning dosage is around 2g, not going above 3 until you get an idea of your sensitivity.
Even 4g of rue seems a little on the high side, but okay.
Ill take that into consideration. At some point I even thought about a probable
underdose. Still, me and my friend will prepare the brew with all the MHRB (20 gr.), since we are afraid that we may ingest less percentage of alkaloids due to weak bark or excessive heat. In other words, we are aiming juuuust a little above just in case.
Quote:You can keep the mimosa on a rolling boil the entire time and it's fine, SWIM prefers this.
I read somewhere that when someone is heating the plant material above 60°C, a percentage of alkaloids is lost in the process. Also, I read somewhere that
"the more heat you use, the more weak the brew becomes". Thats why I'm surprised you keep it boiling the entire time. How much time and how much water would you use for 20 gr of powdered MHRB with the rolling boil method?
Quote:Edit: And of course best of luck, clouds!!
Thank you very much, ragabr.

Quote:Hey Clouds, are you the guy who's never tried dmt or ayahuasca? Finally taking the plunge?
Yes indeed! (I will try this concoction and I am aware its neither Ayahuasca or Freebase DMT, but at least its a start).
Quote:The taste in unbearable for me, and induces vomiting. But some people are concerned about eating plant material I guess. It seems to me that a boiling extraction will extract whatever undesireable substances are in the rue anyway. The rest is just fibre. Seems the same with mimosa, in my opinion.
Yeah, in the future I will probably due the more sophisticated methods that involve a less nauseating experience. But this first time I want to go dirty, you know? hahahaha. Id like to see what is the purge all about. The instructions say I could just crush the seeds and eat them in a little water... but I'm not sure if that better than doing a little hot water and vinegar extraction soup. That was my main doubt, but apparently there is no problem (related to alkaloid efficiency) if I just drink the seeds, right?
Quote:Rue is very easy to extract. Probably not even crushing them or adding vinegar is necessary. The alkaloids come out very easy. Hot water extraction for an hour should be fine.
Quote:As for the mimosa... Keep the water near boiling, but not boiling.
I will do this. Sounds all right to me.
Quote:It's easier to strain if the seeds are whole.
Quote:As for the mimosa, not much vinegar, or none is required.
Are these statements based on your personal experience or is a well known fact?
Thank you very much for your help, Apoc. Best wishes.
I will post the results of the experience on November 4th 2010. Again, thanks to everyone.
