I saw a you tube clip a while ago (can't remember exactly what or when) with drug rehab patients who went into the jungle for an ayahuasca session (treatment).
One of the things that caught my ear, was when the narrator said that for two weeks the patients were on a strict salt free diet and had no sexual activity. The reason for the diet and conservation of sexual energy was said to make the patients more sensitive to the ayahusca.

I can see where the diet comes into play. But NO sexual activity? Really? If this is true, does it also apply when smoking spice? (seems like it would be)

That is the standard diet. No salt, no sugar, no spicy food - and no sexual activity.

At least the food thing can do a great job when it comes to getting more sensitive. We use far too much salt and sugar and reducing this, can really change threshold levels in awareness. Give it a try.

But no sexual activity ... well, in my opinion, the whole thing is far more complex than simply requesting this. Some masters say that sex is OK before ayahuasca, but it should be more like "the tantric way". I very much agree with this. Building up sexual energy in advance can create truly blissful experiences with ayahuasca later.

However, I really don't know why the whole thing should be so important. If you really go to the jungle, usually a really strong and decent tea will be served to you by people who really know how to brew ayahuasca. This can kick someone's ass off if you are usually only accustomed to weaker, maybe home-brewed ayahuasca.

However, at least such a food diet can really have a lot of very nice benefits and is definitely worth trying.

Yeah i changed my diet a while ago. Feels great. There is still a lot i can do to improve, but im getting better.

The diet seemed obvious, but i guess i wasnt sure of the sexual energy part of the question.

Thanks

abstinance and purity go hand in hand
the less you touch things the more your presence is all encompassing

you can raise kundalini right after sex, but its never as strong as when it happens before or during

I never understood this suggestion either. Maybe it's just to weed out people from ceremonies that aren't serious about it. I think the same about paid ceremonies. If someone is willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a ceremony, then I assume that they are likely to be very serious about it.

Any serious athlete knows that sexual abstinence increaaes testosterone levels, activates the adrenal system and engages the fight or flight mechanism - all things that, given a high pre flight anxiety i personally would choose to minimize. I think preparing yourself for peril or perish is a little bit overkill, given the intensity of the spice experience.

Besides, with the frequency of use of some of our members, this could very easily become an internet haven for monks were abstinence observed too closely! Smile

I have have found that going a few days without (NOT TWO WEEKS!) does seem to make for a more sensitive experience. I have found if I try to trip with sexual energy completely exhausted, like after seriously intense, pushing the envelope of human physiology kind of marathon sex, then dmt will not be as strong. It just seems like when energy levels get depleted, there isn't the proper chemistry for a good trip. One time I tried ayahuasca upon waking early in the morning, but I found I felt tired, but not able to sleep, sort of frustrated during the trip. The right energy was not there.

Abstinance from sex makes you able to go much deeper into hyperspace, into worlds of ecstasy far beyond physical pleasure.

DMTripper is a fictional character therefore everything he says here must be fiction.
I mean, who really believes there is such a place as Hyperspace!!

I don't know, team! Pleased There is nothing quite like sex on mushrooms.

You have to open the root before energy can flow anywhere else. Sex, just like DMT (*!*), can be a tool. Are you using it to go deeper? (into hyperspace, of course!) Tantric sex engages the right brain tremendously.

Don't forget, there is just as much sex magick out there as there are odes to celibacy.

I have been celibate for three years... Shocked

I do often wonder: has Aya purposely only dispatched the worst of men into my life so celibacy is the most glorified option, until my shamanic training period has come to an end? Razz Mad Confused

visionary erotiscapes

My personal experiences with the molecule have all been about the affirmation of life, so a contraindication of the most powerful act of creation and celebration of life seems counterintuitive. It does not seem casual, however. My heart tells me that the only sex I should ever be having is sacred. Lots of what Aya has taught me has really geared me toward looking for serious soul union, versus quick flings. It works on a physical (security) level, heart (emotional) level, and I would assume it follows to a spiritual level. But that's just me... Aya encourages positive and healthy behaviors, and it makes absolute sense that it has modified my ideas about sex. So, I guess what I am saying from all of my intimate, celibate years with Aya, is that, yeah, sex could (in the right set/setting? ha ha) be a very powerful method of exploring the mental and spiritual dimensions.

Simply having erotic thoughts can steer a trip in a powerfully erotic direction (see trip report about kundalini and naked men).

These are just minxish ramblings, greatly affected by the peaking lunar cycle... When I am abducted by a gorgeous man wearing fig leaves and riding a bufo toad who takes me to his secret treehouse full of glittering DMT crystals that weigh kilograms, to... well... I won't finish that sentence because it might spoil someone else's dieta.

Twisted Evil Wink Cool

I recall once reading about this somewhere else, and someone suggested the word, "Plantra."

I also think a lot of people interested in celibacy have an unhealthy, body-negative perspective, that could be an imbalance with overemphasis on the mental aspects of existence. The body is a temple... What happens inside YOUR temple? Cool (serious qustion, actually!)
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

Oh yeah.... and ayahuasca sex is possible as well, though harmaline is not recommended. One time I thoguht the trip was over, so I went to have sex, only to have the trip go into overdrive. It seemed the sex combined with dmt caused a natural chemical release. It was out of this world. I called that kind of sex, "riding the dragon". Although at points I had to just put my head down because I got too dizzy. It was a full body/mind/spirit kind of sex.

to me...sex drains me of my chi. if i haven't had sex for several days and then dose or meditate, it is more intense, to me. sex is physical gratification. physical gratification distracts me from my soul. deny myself the body's request and i feel more in tune with myself. there is also the other side of this coin.

if my girl and i haven't had sex in awhile and trip, we both feel a very strong, sexual energy. so i believe there is a give and take here. i have always read that sex drains one of their chi which is why monks refrain from it. i think, though, that it's just like any other "first experience". if you've never had sex, than it's not that big of a deal. once you've had it, you need it. so if you're in a relationship with someone and the sex is more than just a physical desire (and more of a spiritual connection) than it shouldn't have the same effect.

i could be way off base here but yes, IMHO and IME, going a couple days without sex before a trip does make the trip more profound.

i've only been able to have sex once while full blown. it was amazing. it took over an hour to get to it once we agreed. the smells and thoughts were a little overwhelming at first. once i broke through the mental barrier, though, it was amazing. she was orgasming almost immediately and continued to the entire time we were having sex. never in my life have i felt an orgasm so strong or deep. it really felt as though i died when i orgasmed. it was amazing.

keep in mind, too, that i'm referencing LSD. still a little new to the spice world. still yet to try aya. can't give an honest judgment of how sex effects that trip. it would seem to me, though, that if depleting myself of sexual energy effects meditation and LSD trips, it probably would with spice, too.
embrace your nothingness...it's all you are...

When you don't ejaculate at all during the act, it is an alchemical process, hence "making love".
