Suppose swim dissolves 4g of DMT fumarate in 4L of water. How long might you expect this solution to last in a fridge? Any reason it can't be kept almost indefinitely?

Why do you want to dissolve it in water?

Just keeping it in a dry, sealed container in your fridge will keep it at least good for years to come.

Kind regards,

For dosing. swim lacks a mg scale, doesn't have the money to buy a decent one, and has had epic problems with the cheap Chinese ones. He has resorted to a method of dissolving relatively large amounts of spice (4g) in correspondingly large amounts of water (4L) for accurate dosing (1ml = 1 mg spice fumarate). He just wonders how long he can keep it like this..

So what do people think? Skull thinks that if DMT fumarate stores well in water in a fridge that this is an excellent method for dosing, which perhaps is much more accurate than those cheap mg scales that many use.

But any word from anyone on how long it'll keep like this? Or will the skull have to perform his own tests?

I don't know, but I do know that vinegar is used as a preservative, so you might want to just use acetate instead of fumarate. 4g. Jeez. How long do you think that would last?

It defeats the purpose. dmt fumarate is thought to be stable because it is not hygroscopic does not therefore attract moisture from the air and can thus be made to a powder for better dosing. By this logic, dissolving it in water has the opposite effect.

I think that skull may have to opt for tartaric acid instead of fumaric acid to make dmt tartrate of he wants to keep the solution for a long time. Tartaric acid and tartrate ions have antioxident properties and Hoffman I believe was the one who claimed that LSD tartrate can be kept almost indefinitely if dissolved in water (and stored in cool temperatures, out of light and air, i.e. as it in the LSD ampoules). Or even better, just buy a mg scale!

Thanks for the replies all. Skull has decided that the easiest thing to do for now is to leave things as is, and then in perhaps 2 months or so down the road, he will evaporate 1L of this solution to pure dryness and see if there has been any considerable loss. He may repeat this experiment again several times over the course of many months if the results are satisfying enough the first time around. But if they're not, he will try this whole thing again using tartaric acid rather than fumaric for salting DMT and let you all know how it goes.

Also, an mg scale just isn't the skull's budget. He's not prepared to toy around with the cheap ebay ones after his bad experience with them, and he doesn't have the spare cash for a decent one. No matter though, his DMT fumarate solution has been serving him very reliably as of late, and if he sees a deterioration in that trend, he will simply do what it takes to overcome. He's confident that this method can be made to serve him well.. well, he really wants to believe it anyway..

EDIT: in fact, the skull just realized that he actually has roughly 2g or so of DMT fumarate dissolved in a small amount of water from over a month back. He will evaporate this solution at the time of his next convenience and see what he is left with.
