SWIM is working on his first extraction and isn't quite sure when to drain the naptha and scrape the crystals. Should the naptha go clear eventually?

Just for informational purposes, the naptha started with a yellow tint, and went cloudy when put in the freezer and there are a ton of crystals formed already, but naptha is still cloudy.

Assuming you used the same amount of naptha as recommended in the teks, and your freezer is very cold, a freeze overnight should be enough. If you want to make sure, you can evap some of the solvent before the freeze to give you a more saturated solution. If you are still unsure, evap what you have left after the freeze, but then that kinda makes the freeze precip pointless in the 1st place.

amounts were 200g mhrb, 200g lye, 3000ml water, 200ml naptha as per Norman's Tek

A tip for next time: If you use less naphtha per pull, and do more pulls, your yield will come out not only more consistent between each pull (Assuming you have used different jars for each pull without combining them; if you did combine all pulls, this works just as well too), but higher.

Try something in the range of .4-.5:1 naphtha to MHRB ratio.

I've already added the naptha for my final pull, but i'll give this a shot on the next batch
