so i noticed this the first time i took acid, i was looking in the mirror and my face had turned a weird sorts of orange and bluish hues. it happens every time i take acid or mushrooms. ive researched it a bit and some of the "symptoms" seem like vasoconstriction. ive never met anybody else who changes color like me, has anyone encountered this sorta thing or am i some kind of half chameleon freak of nature?

Have you pondered the possibility that this was actually a change in your perceptions, brought by lsd/shrooms ?

people see all sorts of insane things in mirrors on psychedelics. I've seen myself disappear, grow old, melt, ect

Yea, thats like the purple sky on mushrooms It's just a change in perception mate.

Bluish like bruising bluish? I've heard that some substances can cause coagulation issues at higher doses, but I've never come across any one who it has happened to.

I'd mainly put it down to a change is perception, but if it's something beyond that I'd be careful.

Do you usually feel pretty good afterwards?

i should have made this clear in my first post but this is not due to my altered perception. other sober people can see it and i do, in fact, change color. its not anything that im worried about as it has never caused me to feel bad and ive used lsd and mushrooms enough that i most likely would have found out by if any serious complications would arise from this. i just try to be careful with drugs im not as familiar with. i steer clear of most research chemicals and i dont think trying bufotenine would be a good idea as vasoconctriction can be a side effect and i dont want to risk it. i was curious to see if other people had this reaction but im not worried about it myself.

and yes soulfood, i almost always feel great after giving my mind a good stretch

Just imagine watching your face drip

I turn orange, my fingers get fat and stubby, my forearms appear to swell and all the hair on my arms, face and head disapears. I havnt recorded a trip, and ive never triped with someone else present. However, Im quite certain that this is all perception.

yeah its a perceptual thing

my head turned gargantuan and the colours of my face ... far out.
and seeing the reflection of your face in your eye ... is messed up. its as though your soul is staring back at you.
also ... heh, i looked like i was covered, TOTALLY COVERED with fine brown hairs, like a chimp. all over my legs, arms, hands, everything.

and at another time i saw the fibers of my body, very akin to an alex grey piece.

its not just perception. sober people can tell im tripping because my face takes on orangish and bluish hues. i wasnt asking if folks thought i was trippin too hard.

My question would be if any of these observers were people who were unaware that you would be tripping at all on any given day? Also from the perceptual standpoint, I've looked green in the mirror on both shrooms and acid the first couple of times I would take either.

yes people who had no idea i was tripping tell me that i look orangish and bluish. im not sure why you folks dont believe me, i trust my senses and im able to differentiate between altered perception and reality. just because i have to post in the nursery doesnt mean i dont know what im talking about.

and very little other info, you have to expect a slew of responses like you are getting. Try and post more precisely so that people who are generally interested don't have to extract the info from you like pulling teeth... A concise, explicit first post often leads to concise explicit responses.

No one is trying to dis you, and everyone here has the utmost respect for the nursery (I spent a good deal of time there myself ). Had you included info like others not on psychedlics see you as bluish as well, the initial responses would have been of a totally different order.

I personally don't have anything to add regarding your initial question, but if you are truly turning colours, LAY OFF THE DRUGS AND GO TO A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY. This is no joke. It is not only not normal, but very worrying. Blueness often arises from a lack of oxygenated blood, and if your blood is this thin in oxygen for hours on end, you are probably depriving your brain of it as well. SO LOOK INTO IT BEFORE CONSUMING ANY MORE SUBSTANCES.

thank you for the advice, i probably should have thought that first post over more carefully. as for heading to the family doctor to ask him why i turn an orangish hue when i trip on acid... kinda out of the question.
ive done a good deal of research on my own and its never caused me any trouble. i dont really trip on acid that much anymore and i only do shrooms every great once in a while so its really not an issue.
your advice is excellent and definately what i would tell someone in my position. but as far as i know im the leading expert on me, and ive got this one under control. i will continue to orange out on occasion, consequences be darned. its all water under the road, and a mind is a terrible thing

did the people that said you were indeed changing color knew you were tripping? Did they spontaneously comment on your colour (and said the same colours as you thought so), or did you first tell them you thought you were changing into this or that colour and then they confirmed? How many times did this happen? Is it possible the people were joking/teasing you or that they were influenced by your description of it?

What about taking a pictures to compare, non-tripping and trippng in the exact same time of the day, clothes and light setting?

I would guess you're not really changing color in the way your description sounds, but who knows. If you are really changing colors and pictures show it, I must agree that going to a doctor would be a very reasonable decision. In the very least try to contact other reliable doctors that are not your family doctor and ask about it.

Are these color changes evident in your fingers or toes? The reason I ask this is because if its vasoconstriction as you are surmising, its the blood vessels which are furthest away from the heart where you would expect to see changes to be most marked.

I think in order to resolve this-or take a step towards resolving this- it might be an idea to take a photo of the discolouration in the appropriate light-setting next time it occurs, as suggested by Endlessness.

Luckly its all in your head. Actually changing colour is a serious deal.

I've read somewhere that the vasoconstriction from morning glorys (large doses) can turn peoples limbs blue.
Never from acid or mushrooms though. You sure it's acid?...or mushrooms?

i may have made this sound a bit more fantastic than meant to. the first time i noticed this i was on acid and part of my bottom lip had turned a vivid blue as if someone had punched me square in the face. the orange coloration is similar to when my hands get really cold in the winter and they start to turn a kind of purple with orange spots. it is that same orange color that appears in my face. the blue is not typically as noticeable as it was that first time but i ussually have a pale bluish color around my mouth. people do notice without provocation. i would put a picture of this up but i dont think i want my face on this here website(also lacking supplies to make said picture).
