Hello everyone, I just posted this on the Introductory forum, so I'm sorry if any mods get mad at SWIM.

Anyways...

SWIM is going to extract some spice from MHRB...

SWIM is wondering if it is better to buy Mimosa Hostilis root bark that is in powder form, or just the root bark in it's original form?

Also, during evaporation, is it okay if he doesn't use a fan and lets the Naphtha-NaOH-MHRB solution evaporate by itself?

SWIM is also wondering if it is okay to cover the container with wax paper so the spice has somewhere to evaporate to.

If you guys have any insights or answers, SWIM would be greatly gratifying if you will post them. Thanks.

The naptha is separated from from the lie/mhrb before evaporating. you don't need a fan if you don't mind waiting

when the naptha evaporates, the spice will stay in the original container (mason jar, pyrex dish, etc.) covering it with wax paper won't serve any purpose other then keeping particulate floating in the air from falling into the naptha

Powdered form is quicker and easier to work with. (++) The actual bark, you must do some breakdown, etc, etc

Fan= Quicker, smaller crystals. Slow Evap... Well just look here: Big xtals

Well, the "spice" doesn't evap, the naphtha does and leaves the spice behind in the bowl. So any "cover" will work to keep outside stuff out, and inside stuff in Smile But, I wouldn't use wax paper... a cotton shirt does wonders.

I'm just going off of what I know (which mind you isn't much.) Although I hope it'll help xD

SWIM prefers using a jug instead of a big bowl when doing the lazyman's tech, it is much cleaner and really cuts down on the smell. Also you should look into freeze precipitation, also much easier and cuts down on the smell a lot.
