It seems that busts and bad press surrounding DMT is on the rise, so I thought a thread bringing them all together would be a useful way of monitoring how DMT is being represented in the media. This is a place to post any articles, videos, podcasts or any other appropriate media that might demonstrate the current media environment and public perception surrounding DMT. I added the GOOD PRESS at the end as an afterthought so that when media is found that paints DMT in either a neutral or a good light they may be included to aid in determining the balance of public/media opinion.

To keep this easier to follow and evaluate, please post the date the media first appeared (where available) before the link. And please post only relevant material - this is not a thread for your favourite McKenna video or online version of Leary's "the psychedelic experience" Confused . The purpose of this thread is to track the evolution of the societal perception of this psychedelic compound we all cherish. It may serve as a warning of rising negative attention or popularity, or (less likely but ideally Sad ), as an indication of its growing acceptance.

Feel free to post retroactively; old articles or newscasts, properly identified, will aid in evaluating if and how much things have changed, and over time will help complete the documentation of this evolution.

Here are a few recent ones:

JBArk
JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

"Police arrested Patrick Rraylor who they say had about 8 grams of Dmethyltryptamine also known as DMT. Vicksburg police are worried the new drug will replace crystal meth which is expected to be harder to to come by in the future because of new tighter laws."

Lol I saw this. I thought it was a meth lab, I was surprised when I heard DMT.

"It is used to cause short, yet intense feelings of euphoria..."

lol okay..

"We must get a grip on this before it takes hold of our young. DMT is a nasty piece of work."

That may be true, but we need to wake up.

this pains me so much to watch...
seriously, i feel anguish when i hear people lumping in DMT with "other hard drugs", like they are the same.
And worse yet, these people don't accept the notion that there might be something else which you can derive from these substances, more than just "short feelings of euphoria".

today, i'm very very sad Sad
