I did a quick search but as far as I can tell there is no thread on this.

Benoit Mandelbrot - who's work I'm sure we all know and love - passed away on October 14th.

R.I.P. Benoit Mandelbrot.

I'll use this opportunity to recommend the following documentary, which was first posted here by amor_fati.

An extraordinary amount of arrogance is present in any claim of having been the first in inventing something.

-Benoit Mandelbrot

Very true words. I always sucked at maths and found it incredibly boring. But I love all things Mandelbrot.

RIP Benoit Mandelbrot, Fractal Geometry opened my eyes to many things. Only wish I could have gave him a peak into DMT Experience, before he left.

SWIM found out about his work originally through a DMT experience. SWIM was watching looking at the ground and seeing patterns and forms come from the patterns, while hearing a thought in the back of his head repeating, "Mandelbrot".

Then soon after experience was over went and looked this up and started learning all about Fractal Geometry.
