I did a quick search but as far as I can tell there is no thread on this. Benoit Mandelbrot - who's work I'm sure we all know and love - passed away on October 14th.http://www.wired.com/gee...it-mandelbrot-1924-2010/ Always sad when a genius exits this world Methtical |

Hum, who wants to go to britain with me to measure the length of its stretch of coastline as a tribute ? To see the world in a grain of sand, and to see heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hands, and eternity in an hour.- William Blake

An extraordinary amount of arrogance is present in any claim of having been the first in inventing something. -Benoit Mandelbrot Very true words. I always sucked at maths and found it incredibly boring. But I love all things Mandelbrot. Art Van D'lay wrote:Smoalk. It. And. See. |

RIP Benoit Mandelbrot, Fractal Geometry opened my eyes to many things. Only wish I could have gave him a peak into DMT Experience, before he left.
SWIM found out about his work originally through a DMT experience. SWIM was watching looking at the ground and seeing patterns and forms come from the patterns, while hearing a thought in the back of his head repeating, "Mandelbrot".

Then soon after experience was over went and looked this up and started learning all about Fractal Geometry.
