Excellent find!

Apparently there's a tiny amount of toluene in the acetone SWIM uses. Otherwise, it's incredibly pure: http://ilrc.ucf.edu/sample_detail.php?sample_id=469

No entry for bestine, though?

Excellent find.

However trying to find your product can be a bit of a challenge, they should sort it alphabetically. Rolling eyes

As it should be incredibly pure! However it doesnt mean it always will be. For quite some time it seemed like it wasnt anywhere swim would purchase it.This was some time ago but swim found out from a reliable source that certain undesireables were being added to the tone to thwart reactions and washups. This would have been about the time when the war against meth cooks had reached its peak.Even today many impurities still can be found in your tone which can really smash a small yield and for a spice lover on a budget.(swim has always been a spice lover on a budget).
Swim did find 2 ways to make his tone lab grade and take care of the yield killing tone.Dry it with calcium carbonate or switch to MEK which both worked great.MEK being twice the cost of tone is worth it.
Even today one would be shocked when drying out a gallon of tone in a can the impurities that are in there even though the can says otherwise. If you think about it there arent many out there to challenge them on there quality.Swim was always finding rust particles, metal flakes and as always H2o.
.When you dry your tone out you would be aamazed how much your yields will increase even when its a small yield to begin with.Ours went up 50%Anywho when swim saw this tone post it triggered some fond and shitty memories that swim that were worth sharing.
peace

^yields with acetone? SWIM's not aware of anyone who has successfully or reliably extracted with acetone or MEK. Most only ever use acetone for freebase conversion. Or is SWIY referring to FASA? Not sure that MEK works in place of acetone for that. In any case, SWIM used to use a THP loaded with anhydrous magnesium sulfate to filter and dry his acetone. The purity isn't really indicated by the can (as SWIM recalls), but the link provides a chemical analysis of the product, showing it to merely contain traces of toluene. Also, acetone absorbs moisture from the atmosphere, so there's always going to be a bit of water contamination; that's why it's always subjected to drying techniques before use.

Hi guys! I've got some problem with obtaining naphta in my country, but today I finally bought some original "Zippo Lighter Fluid Premium" in black metallic bottle. Is this allright>? This is quite expensive thought. Also I bought some cheap camp fuel. It says that this is a flammable mixture of liquid hydrocarbons, sounds exactly like naphta article from wiki, huh?

A lot of solvents I use aren't on that list. I used whatsinproducts.com. It has everything from pinesol to clairol.

Most of the products SWIM uses are from Recochem, there aren't many of their products on the website listed but recochem.com has MSDS for all their products.

to search for a solvent:

go to the page, view the source code (right klick, view source), and hit Ctrl + F for search. remember the number in front of your solvent, and select it in the drop down menu Smile

Dude, thank you! I came here to ask about Escort Camp Fuel as not too many people seem to have used it. Kind of creepy that when I clicked on the link it was set on Escort fuel of all the things on there.

I'm no expert in reading those charts.. is zippo premium lighter fluid any good? It contains 2-methylheptane,ethylcyclohexane and n-octane, with n-octane being the most prevalent, folowed by 2-methyleptante and ehtylcycloexane. There are also other unnamed spikes in the chart. Has anyone does tests with zippo lighter fluid?

Did you look at the MSDS that most of the pages provide? It's in the lower right of the window and should tell you what your solvent contains.

For example, Kleen Strip something or other:
