Hi guys , Im so lost with this whole ID thing that im just asking for help whenever i have even the slightest suspicion , so I've attached some pics. one of them is really really sickly ,to point its gone yellow ,i suspected it of being san pedro cause of those thorns .I dont know though. The other two just had odd thorns ,and ribs , unlike the tones of cereus in my area. So i was just wondering what you thought they were ,an most importantly if they are psychoactive thanx guys.
Smile

The first may be a dying PC, very tough tell from the pics.
The 2nd two aren't trichs though.
The third looks like some type of a Stenocereus

Ok thanks, if you look at the top of the first one that's lying down, it has some type of dead flower thing. Any relevance?
Thanx

Is that a flower? It looks like dried out rotted cactus flesh.

Well yeah , just below the top it is , but nearer to the top and on the top ,it looks like some kind of puffy/foamy material and seems spherical. So I'm not sure. But by PC do you mean san pedro(Pachanoi)? I'm not too sure what PC means.

I think ThirdEye got it down, but in my limited knowledge the last one seems like it could be a terscheckii. The flower buds are good indicators of trichs: they should all be hairy. I know the PC pach has lighter grey hairs and many active trichs have dark or black hairs, but there are probably exceptions to this.

PC is Predominant Cultivator.
If you go to a cacti forum there is a lot of controversy surrounding it's origins. Basically it is the type of panchoi that you can purchase from a Wall Mart or Home Depot. Breed and sold for it's looks and not it's entheo powers. If you are looking for a ride, stay away from the PC. If your looking for a fast growing cacti for looks, she's your gal.

Go here: http://cactiguide.com/
A great place to help you in the wonderful world of cacti. BUT BE CAREFUL! IT IS ADDICTIVE! Laughing
Also, I would suggest the Nook and www.shaman-australis.com for your cacti needs.

I was thinking terscheckii first but something didn't look right. I can't quite put my finger on it, aureoles and spines just looked off... but hey, I'm no expert. I'd suggest the above referenced forums for a positive ID.

hrm, something does look off. My baby terscheckii spines have very yellow/green color for new growth, and that cactus has very dull grey spines even at the top. Someone who has seen a mature terschekii would know better.

I would also think it would.
Cut off ALL the rot and dip the cut ends into sulfur powder.

Hey guys, just though id restart this thread rather than jumbling up the forum with a new, similar one. No one answered my question about inactive Predominant cultivars with other species? and Has anyone ever seen peyote for sale in a normal garden shop ? also ive seen this around a lot, and it seems slightly trichocereus like, any comments? see picture

Hey buddies, how's the distribution of mescaline containing cactus around the world? is it possible for example for me to find one of these in an ordinary garden shop for sale in middle east?

It may be man ,as far as i can tell, Peruvian torch would be your best bet to look for in shops, but also keep an eye out in suburbia , ive found at least one psycho active cactus growing in my area and its not even desert like here , as it may be where you live? or at least closer to. suppose you could order too, maybe get some seeds and try out this Hydroponic hyper growth
good luck
