for now, my hobbies and passion (yes its cliche) are mycology and psychedelics. i dont think i love anything more than this, but i have future plans for travelling the world solo, and experiencing the natural beauty at as many places as possible on this beautiful planetVery happy

I am fortunate enough to be able to say that there is a lot of crossover between my professional and recreational occupations. I am a bit of a fanatical hobbyist, and have too many to find time for let alone list, but here's a sample: cycling, extreme mountain biking, downhill and x-country skiing, speed skating, reading, creative writing, drawing, digital and darkroom photography, filmmaking, gardening (alimentary and entheogenic!), mycology, the study of psychedelics, consciousness and philosophy, and, of course, alkoloidal extraction!

I, for one, cast my vote for the 36 hour day - about the only way i will be able to partake in any of my hobbies, raise a family and not sink my ailing career!

JBArk the compulsive hobbyist
JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

I'd love to sky dive one day!

I used to be unbelievebly obsessed with rock climbing. I put everything on hold for years, working as little as possible so I could road trip to many high and lonesome places. All of a sudden about two years ago I just didn't care anymore...

I realized that I had been traveling to farther and farther places and entering increasingly dangerous situations chasing something that was right in front of me the whole time. After this realization I now find much more satisfaction in a hike on a beautiful day or a lazy river float.

Sorry if this was a little off topic, but I wanted to share about a passion/hobby that I used to have. It is interesting how something that was once so important to me, now holds very little interest. However, I don't deny the powerful transformational effect climbing had on my life. It empowered me by confronting me with my fears, and allowing no one but myself to see me through.

My new favorite hobby is woodworking. Embracing my creativity has been very therapeutic. In my years adventuring, I neglected my natural creativity that was screaming for an outlet.

Cool post, it is really interesting to see what you nexians do to keep you happy! It's amazing how many different things people do, and how many different paths this can create. All these different paths, but all of us here share a very special one.

Blessings,
Once

I play guitar, sitar, didjeridoo, tabla and produce electronic music.

I also love a good manga comic series and the cartoons also.

Also mainly thanks to this place I've gotten quite interested in growing plants aswell. Mainly cacti, but also a few herbs for cooking.

Long aimless walks are good too Smile

Oh! and cooking which consists of mainly traditional italian and asian fusion foods. I like the science that you can use with cooking also.

I'm extremely impressed with the people here. Whether someone base jumps or collects stamps, if they love it, I think it is really cool.

i understand fully how you feel. ive had similar thoughts in regards to base jumping and skydiving. someday i will call it quits.
heres another shot from that same jump. sometimes getting to the exit point is way harder than the jump itself!Laughing

Awesome shots Olympus, sky diving and base jumping are pretty high up on my list of 'things to do' right now.

As for me: Music, expanding my head-space, introducing my friends to expanded head-spaces, school, reading, video-games, programming (My career), exercise, philosophy, psychology, politics, religion, and ruling the world.

My mind craves nectar day and night.
Like a blue lotus floating on the sea of love.
Lingering in ashantic realms
Lingering in the akashic realms
Lingering in, lingering in the realms.
Blue lotus floats, floating, floating..
Some laugh, some weep, some dance for joy.
My mind craves nectar day and night.

Olympus,

Yeah its funny how the urge just stopped. However, most of the best days of my life were spent up on those high cliffs. The solitude and intensity of those moments are one of a kind.
Is that Smith Rock in the last picture? Monkey Face?

Trickster, I am intrigued by "Cryptoanarchy", please elaborate.
