Anyone here try this rare substance? Have been getting kind of interested in it, but have yet to meet someone who could give me a first hand account.

I never tried it,
but I was interested in it, too.
Read a few reports and they were vary widespread opinions about it.
Some experienced lethargy, others full blown psychedelic experiences.

I wouldn't recommand trying it.

Why not? I like the sound of it, sounds intense! There isnt that many reports on it, ive read practically every one of them. I was planning on getting some a few months back but done iboga and now im paying for a holiday and other things so cant really afford it. Im sure the poster benzyme has some expereince with it. Daniel pinchbecks reports are interesting though he does paint it in quite a dark light, one of his reports are on erowid but not as Daniel pinchbeck, its his report though, its the guy that uses all these big words for the sake of it lol

DPT is a very powerful and interesting substance...100mg insufflated was a VERY powerful experience. It's not the kind of thing I would desire to do a lot of, or often at all, but is definitely something I would like to explore again at lower dosages. After the main peak very intense and fast moving visionary stage, which I remember as ending very suddenly, I experienced a very pleasant afterglow state for a few hours, where I felt euphoric and in a very psychotherapeutic state, wanting to discuss the experience itself and various life issues. The next day I had a pronounced afterglow, felt content and at peace.

1. dissolve the HCl salt in hot water, about 100 mL
2. basify to a pH of 12.6
3. add 50 mL DCM for every gram, swirl. pour the dcm into a dish and evap.
4. scrape and add it to your smoking medium of choice.

Daniel Pinchbeck writes about a traumatic DPT experience at the end of Breaking Open the Head. He had only done DMT once beforehand, but described DPT as having a much darker or more sinister complexion.

I found myself mostly liking that book right up until that point, but with the DPT experience he seemed to go from grounded and credible to flakey embarrasment, all in a single chapter. I have no exeperience with it, but there wasn't a lot about his description that made me want to seek it out.

^^Agreed. I would take Daniel Pinchbeck's opinions with a pinch of salt, I mean we're all individuals when it comes to these weird chemicals. Best for one to make up their own mind with these matters I think.

yes
but naptha isn't very efficient for pulling, and xylene takes forever to evap at room temp.
heat the naptha if that is to be used.
aside from chloroform, dcm is the best solvent to use for alkaloids. use that whenever possible.

From what i've read about it, it is active in about the same amounts as DMT. So 100mg would be quite a large dose.

I have no experience with it either, but i also have read the reports describing it as 'darker' than DMT.
Could that be because it has more physical side-effects? If i remember it correctly, a few reports on it described a heavy body-load. In my experience, those kind of physical sensations can have a big influence on how a psychedelic experience is perceived.

I worked with about 250mg's of DPT divided between five journeys, insuffulated. It had very little body load compared to the come up of smoked DMT, and burned much more than 5-MeO-DMT. The visuals had a very quick character and similar to bancopuma's description, ended abruptly each time. It had a very impersonal character, like a movie going on that didn't have much to do with me.

Favorite experience, Krishna appeared and made a blessing gesture and the entire room turned into a flow of electric light cobras.

How close would say the effects are to those of DMT (Spiritually, Visually, Mentally, Auditory)?
