I can't believe I had never before heard of this book, by Thaddeus Golas!

It's no longer in print, but the full text is available at the link above--and you can also buy from that site a recording of the author reading the text.

From what I've been reading on this site, I think almost everyone here would resonate DEEPLY with the simple and straightforward ideas and observations presented in that book. Golas first published it in 1971, and I think most of his experiences sprang from LSD trips (he probably never heard of spice). But it IS rather filled with talk of "entities." If you haven't heard of it i really do encourage you to have a look...it's overflowing with very useful wisdom.

The state of mind that most needs enlightenment is the one that sees human beings as needing to be guided or enlightened.

The book lost me in the chapter 'How We Got Here'. It describes how things come into being because certain energy entities deny the possibility of something. I don't know how it works, but I suppose these spirits are suddenly confronted with the idea of Pluto the Dog (the example used in the book), and if they intensely reject the idea of Pluto the Dog - zap - they become Pluto the Dog.

I found his ideas about space interesting though. I understand that matter is energy condensed to a slow vibration, but the idea that energy can expand to become space is amazing. That space is likened to the One Mind, or God.

I've been considering this idea of God being Void, or No[thingness]. Like the blackly organic void at the heart of a Mandlebrot Set.

Always a striking analogy with fractals: all the mini-mandelbrots think they are separate parts of consciousness while in fact they are all connected, it's One Big Thing!

Interesting read, thanks. I'm at chapter one now and hope it's not going to get too new-agy...

I wouldn't call it that. Don't forget that this was written in San Francisco, back in the day. "New Age" hadn't really been invented yet. I get the definite impression that he is speaking DIRECTLY from the heart, about his own knowledge and experience. He originally wrote this just to pass around to friends on the street--Haight-Ashbury style.

It's reasonable to think of it as authentic because NOTHING LIKE THAT had really ever been written before. In fact, these days many people express themselves in ways similar to the book...and I think that's because those ideas ORIGINATED with that book...

What, are you crazy? What you see in this book is ancient wisdom, not at all new thoughts. It might be some of the first books of it kinds in the western society, but not at all the origin of these thoughts. They go back thousands and thousands of years.

My main mental hurdle at the moment is truly understanding emptiness and nothingness its an important philosophy in Tibetan Buddhism. Its a tricky concept to understand that everything isn't really there we manifest everything we see and experience shaping and molding our reality, relative to what vibration we are resonating with since we were born. I love contemplating on such ideas and concepts, I feel its vital to understand emptiness to reach enlightenment Very happy

I was just sent a link to this book a few days ago...can't believe I hadn't heard of it before. I loved it! There are a lot of things in there that help me see how/why things in my relationships, especially with my wife, occur the way they do.

Hey man thanks for sharing the link~!

I just opened and read the first chapter. I love when I read something and it just pings my heart. It feels like I've known it all along but someone needed to just pause me for a second from all these distractions and tell me again. Can't wait to dive in more!

thankyou
