...Inspired by the DC Botanic Gardens over a year ago and rediscovered on my old phone as I was transferring stuff onto my new one (and coming seemingly out of nowhere as my "usual" poetry/rhymes tend to be in a very different style, but this just appeared in my head and I texted it to myself). I thought mebbe some nexians would appreciate it:
To take the time to stop and see
That there is truth and mystery
In every leaf and every vine
The Dao of one conscious mind
That pulsates deep and green and heals
With energy that all can feel
Yet somehow we forget these plants
Whilst we carry on our daily dance
And mill about in suits of tweed
Slaves to credit and corporate greed
But these ancient plants so few know well
Can save us from this free trade hell
Releasing change that's in our mind
And love not lost to sands of time
As we delve deep into the mystery
Our selves lost in timeless history
Created through botanical wonder
For once the rain precedes the thunder
Cleansing the soul from judging stigma
And returning life as wondrous enigma
