I don't own a TV and i rarely watch any movies or series on my PC as I find most of them to be counterproductive in my personal growth. I am tired of Hollywood and the impact it has had on the whole world. However, I often want to watch something interesting, but I have trouble finding it. Do you guys have any good suggestions on what movies to watch? I am looking for anything that is meaningful and that is able to learn me something. Spirituality, science, shamanism, psychology, philosophy and anything in these lines is interesting. It really doesn't matter if it is a documentary, a feature film or a short film. Any good suggestions out there? I hope this thread can grow to contain a large number of great films!

BARAKA is a good one , excellent soundtrack and the footage was shot in 70MM. Gorgeous Film that says alot without a single word. Obviously everything the Shaman says is Hyperspace Hyperbole

Staying on topic I would add : Where the Wild Things Are (For kids, but all the kids movies should be like this. Beautiful.) Naked Lunch (Heavy but tasty.) Existenz (Light but filling.) Spirited Away (Awesome anime.) SWIM is Spartacus!

"Into The Wild" is a fuckin awesome movie. if you haven't seen it Evening, then you my friend are missing out. download this torrent at 1080p: Into The Wildi've watched this movie so many times, and still find it interesting Another reeeaalllyy good movie is "Avatar" but i'm sure you've seen that i heard some really good things about "The Man From Earth," but i haven't seen it yet. im currently downloading it; but i would still recommend it <3

two of my all time favorite mind fuck films would have to be 'Naqoyqatsi' and 'Koyanisqatsi' a few other favorites: Mulholland Dr Pi Moon 2001 Irreversible (this one is brutal) Neon Genesis Evangelion (the entire series is being compressed into 4 films) My mind craves nectar day and night.

Hi guys, When it comes to tv shows I'm big fan of anything which come out from David Simon's pen: The Wire, The Corner, Homicide: Life on the Street...(HBO) I enjoy British dark comedy tv shows too: Monkey Dust, Nighty night, The League of Gentlemen an so on In movies, I'm recently looking for gnostic sect philosophy reference...I enjoyed 'Waking Life' very much, Pleasantville, Groundhog Day and so on For a long time I'm in love in Asian cinema and tv (anime), especially work of Kenji Kamiyama: 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 1,2' (which in my modest opinion is best cyberpunk ever made), Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. But other are great as well: Berserk, Ergo proxy... In movies it's work of Chan-wook Park, Ki-duk Kim's and anything great (I think asian cinema is on 'the roll'  Big surprise came from Europe in gangster movie genre by 'Prophet' and 'Gomorrah' From Hollywood it is Scorsese's 'Shutter Island' and Nolan's 'Inception' this year 'Life is an illusion designed to keep your mind occupied while you are digested by God.'

Here'e another great recent Korean film (which for you younger, hipper, female Nexians stars the Asian singer/actor Rain) I’m a Cyborg, but that’s OK: I never appreciated films until I (or was it SWIM?) had a few trips under the belt. I still recall the event, in college in 1970, it was Fellini’s Juliet of the Spirits, which itself is a pretty trippy. During the showing, the projectionist must have been tripping too, because the projector broke and the film froze at the dissolve between these two scenes, and no one did anything about it…due to the heat of the lamp, the film started to bubble, which looked pretty cool on the screen, and for a moment I was thinking, what is Fellini trying to say here…..? WHOA!
