so i bought some Ikhathazo root off the net and im pretty stoked on its effects. When smoked it has very similar effects to ganja but without the crash and mental cloudiness that comes along with most strains of ganja. It has a very clear minded ganja like high and also makes you have some pretty vivid weird dreams. its a great ganja alternative

I will have to look into this. I have looked into cannabis alternatives a lot and have allways been disappointed. I wander if this time will be different ...

How long do effects last???

This is interesting. I must admit that I am highly skeptical, as I have found every single marijuana alternative promised to be close to the real deal to have effects not even comparable to cannabis. I think I should do some research on the root and order some if it looks promising... Thanks for the tip!

well it is smoked and snuffed here - very commonly - also hehe - u can only collect it on misty days at a certain time of year.
old ppl seem to use it the most.

Yup I smoke Ikhathazo out of a bong Ive never really paid attention to how long the effects last but I would guesstimate around 2 hours It takes around 3 or 4 bowls to get you high but at the price of 8 dollars an ounce and with the closest effects to mary jane besides the JWH chemicals its hard to beat

Have you tried Snuffin it ? I know its not the best way to use it but id prefer snufin than smoking since i just quit smoking .

naw i haven't tried snuffing it snorting a bunch of roots doesn't really appeal to me at all

ok so i smoked 2 bowls of this root. for me, its effects were mild compared to weed, but also more clear-headed. It lasted only for about an hour. So i guess if you're looking for a mellow high alternative of weed, it would work; but i wouldn't call it "great."

*edit* smoked like 3-4 bowls from a different pipe, and now i feel as tho it has even lesser effects than i originally thought. before, the high seemed different and lasting an hour, but i now believe that was due to some of the remaining spice in my other bubbler. so now that i've smoked it again in a different clean pipe, i must say that for me, it was nothing like weed. tbh, now i dont even believe this root has any active chemical, because today i barely felt even any of the subtler effects, which lasted only a few minutes..in other words, it didn't get me high

Ive noticed that this root seems to effect the people ive smoked it with differently for me it gets me pretty baked but for a few people ive smoked it with it has little or no effect at all so i think you may be one of those people who ikhathazo dosent work for

Has anyone tried preparing the root as a tea? If not, I will try it out when I get the root.

I bought an ounce of this and tried it with four friends out of a bong. It was very hard to grind up, but we managed to pack a 1g bowl to the rim. I took ~4 large hits and got fairly high for about an hour, although I do have a high tolerance to ganja. My friends felt it too, but they weren't too excited about it. It's definitely not as strong as ganja and you do need to smoke a lot. It taste pretty good as long as it's a fresh bowl, old bowls taste horrible. Probably a good alternative if you get drug tested often, although it might actually show up as a false-positive?? Couldn't find a lot of research on the plant.

Remember to smoke a lot to get effects!
