So during my recent changa adventures I brought two of my close psychonaut buddies along. After adjusting the room to the proper settings, we began a small meditation to clear the mind of all doubts and fears. After this we smoked our first bowl in silence. My first friend, being new to the spice, I encouraged him to take as much as possible from the first bowl since it had the best chances of working (tolerance, expectations etc.). He did and we passed it taking two each. My experience was mild but exhilarating. It brought me to a peak of euphoria as I giving a vision where I was able to "count my blessings" literally seeing how blessed I am!

Next we decided to play music, and actually it was a certain song in specific ("Watch the Sun Come Up (Moam Remix)" http://www.youtube.com/w...9-bHQ&feature=search) because honestly it is beautiful. There are few songs I can say are perfect, but this is one of them. Loading another bowl, I started smoking it right after the first chorus. Two large tokes later an while sitting in full lotus position my upper body began to dance and sway. Before I knew I was flipping through space, guided by the music to a place of pure bliss. I came out of it shedding a few tears of joy. One of my fellow journeyman ripped the bong after I did and fully broke-through for his first time. Since this experience, even his parents have remarked on his happy/peaceful "afterglow". I am truly happy for him!

But after a lengthy post (haha), how do you feel about music being used during a session? I can totally understand the purist sentiment of going in without external stimuli, but I can also see how proper music choice could enhance an experience. What are your sentiments?

I never listened to music with smoked spice, but I did with ayahuasca and it definitely enhanced the music. It helped me create new patterns and what not. When I've listened to music on salvia, it's fueled the confusion, putting me in a space where I could both see and literally feel the music. I was unable to discern it from other sensations in my salvia-induced reality, and would often misinterpret a lyric as something being said directly to me. Not necessarily an argument against doing it with DMT. I think the argument against music that you'll come across will be that it detracts from the beautiful sounds of hyperspace and communication with entities. Of course if you can't manage to breakthrough or communicate with entities, maybe music is right for you. Also to Stevowitz and Camdemonium, those were great songs.

gobalswg, I feel the "same" with salvia. The music fuses itself so much with the experience it gets very weird and confusing.

Surface to Air is possibly one of the most beautiful techno songs ive ever heard, Strange ( im gonna call you SGSMP ok ? ).

I do like that. At the beginning of the song, i thought i might not, but i do.

Hahaha I get it. I know that song is like cheesy techno trance BS. I'm typically not really into that, but out of all the different DJ's and styles my friends have tried to turn me onto, this song is the only one that sticks out to me. It's like just this happy feel good dance song. A guilty pleasure at most.

I like the digitally imported stations. They got some sweet Psychill, trance, chillout and ambient stations that I love listening to while I trip. Depends what mood I'm in. Plus winamp has some pretty sick visuals.

I have to say "Behind Closed Eyelids" by shpongle is my favorate one ever! All of shpongle is good to listen to! Also the is a dj called Mimosa and he has an album called hostilis and all his tracks are good! My favorate song by mimosa is "Psyhedelic Radio" although "sirus" is great too!

Not to appear too old and curmudgeonly, but I just don't get all the people here who journey to the techno. That stuff is going to irk the shit out of me back on channel normal; add spice to the mix, and fugghedaboudit - that ain't where I want to be.

I'm all about the ambient sounds (if any at all) during download. I like to go to a solid tone, just to give me something to latch onto - but sometimes music with mystical or religious overtones as well can serve as a powerful rudder.

i dont think i could handle music, all sounds seem to just echo and echo and echo slowing right down and morphing into new sounds....i think music would freak me out to much. but would like to give it a go sometime.

'Cause I have mates that agree with me that there's something about the sounds in this song. It affects the trip very strongly and it seems like hyperspace likes this music, or meditative sounds or what you may call it.
But maybe it just suits me and my mates. That's what I'm curious about.

I had exactly that song playing during my first DMT trip!! But honestly...next time will be without music because the trip was pretty damn intense and overwhelming. Off course i do not know if the music had something to do with it....maybe it was just the dose

honestly I feel that it only efectst your mood and onset. The few times after I first broke through, I would get this anxioty almost too scared to even put my lips to the bong. Latter I was like there is no scence into worry. She will hold my hand, and that is why I love changa.
