I know that many of you don't have much time to play video games, but occasionally they are a good stress reliever and also fun to play when you are on mushrooms and such. I play this game for PC called Halo Custom Edition. Its a free game in which you can download legally from Microsoft. Whats cool about it is that it is an open source game, like gary's mod or half life, in which people make different mini games for, (Zelda, the mummy, etc.).

If anyone would like to play online, or already plays these games, send me a PM. Here are some pics Of halo Custom Edition.

The second game I would like to recommend is called Continuum. It is another free online game, with many people who play it. Imagine asteroids on steroids but better. In continuum you fly tiny ships and try to blow each other up in team death match or alone. It can run on the slowest and weakest computers. It's great for playing a quick match when you are drinking your coffee and have 4 or 5 minuets to spare.

I'm currently saving up for StarCraft 2. StarCraft is all I can think about lately.

All I play is call of duty online on ps3 and starcraft 2 on pc.

Morphane here's a trick you can do if there's a walmart near you. Its what I did. Startcraft doesn't require a disc to play the game. You can buy the game from walmart install and register the cd key on your pc. Then return it for the same game saying the discs don't read (say you don't have the reciept). Now either wait a day or go to a diffrent walmart and return the unopened game you just got with your origional reciept. That's how you can get it free. You cant return an opened game for a refund but you can swap it for a unopened game and return that for your cash. Lol goodluck. Pm me if you get it and we can play.

Hyperspacing, your craftiness makes me think you will be a most formidable foe in game, and I should want months of practice before exposing myself to likely defeat. Wink

The best computer games I've ever played:

Half-Life 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMgBA8CZq2s

Portal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWj781LiMtc

American McGee's Alice
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDoDmAI1jBw

These three are breathtaking worlds of art. I'm not a big game bluff, but these three are so beyond everything else, as the Matrix or Avatar are in movies or the work of Simon Posford in electronic music.

A possible fourth is Samorost 2 by Amanita Design:

There are also a couple of old MS-DOS games that I enjoyed immensely back then:

Dune (strategy + adventure):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIJi4PGle3A

Dune 2 (strategy):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR9Q4Nfe1Vo

Day of the Tentacle (adventure):

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (adventure):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg47Ab2W2jo

Space Quest III (adventure):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2Rz5v4LL1c

Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders (adventure):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1thWKQEDcI

You can still play these with a DOS emulator (http://www.dosbox.com).

There was also a quite creepy horror-style game called Ecstatica which I only recently discovered in my unending hunt for the bizarre and otherworldly:

In the 2D platformer category, my personal favorite is Heart of Darkness:

Modern Warfare 2 and Red Dead Redemption on the 360. Counter-Strike: Source on PC. demonoid.com FTW if you don't know about it for PC games.

How did I miss this thread?

BTW Caen, you have GOOD TASTE in games. I'm not much of an RPGer, but thems the shit. I've spent many fine days playing the old Baldur's Gate and Fallout games, as well as Neverwinter Nights. I used to wish I had FF Tactics.

I mostly play PC strategy, with the occasional RPG. My favorites are Men of War (like Company of Heroes but SO MUCH BETTER), an old 2d ww2 strategy game called Blitzkrieg, Napoleon: Total War (used to play Rome), and Cossacks 1 & 2. Fallout 3 sometimes. I also love the RPG Mount&Blade.

Civ is a great series. Civ 5 will be out next month.

I loved Master of Orion II, but don't understand why it hasn't spawned some decent sequels like the Civ franchise. I wish Sid Meier would make such a space strategy game.
