I have always heard that all parts of the coca plant are illegal in the USA. I recently noticed it selling at many entheo stores so I googled it and you can get it EVERYWHERE. Even Amazon

Does anyone know the legal status?
Has anyone made a tea out o it? How was it?

Coca tea was only taken when coming down from peyote and san pedro tea. Smoking a lot of mapacho through pipe.
This seemed like a real good energizer for the afterglow which can be quite exausting mentally after a whole night sweating...
I don't really have a clue of its legal status there though. Best tool to analyze and share what was happening during the peak.

Interesting. How much was drunk? Can you go into a little more detail as far as affects?

A friend of mine once told me that he had coca tea when in Peru. The taste wasn't enjoyable and the effects were barely noticeable, if at all. It is drank to counter the "apunamiento" (diminished concentration of oxygen in the Peruvian heights).

When i was younger and traveling through Sri Lanka, i stopped off at a spice garden and the guys there gave me loads of weed and coca leaves. I ate loads of the leaves that night and although they didn't have much of an effect, i couldn't sleep for ages. Could've been placebo though.

I read that a 1 gram tea bag of coca leaves conatins 5.3mg of cocaine along with all the other actives. So I would assume the affects would be very subtle (I think a typical dose is 200mg). So I would guess to feel anything from the tea you would need 40g... Not a fan of the isolated alks so not too sure, plus we can't discus the isolated alks here at the Nexus Rolling eyes

I think as a tea it is very interesting and worth exploration.

It is apparently VERY VERY RICH in minerals!

Not sure how that balances with stimulation or any possibility of addiction, though. Confused
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

Coca tea is not addictive. not saying it isn't possible for it to be, given the right person and the right amounts. Maybe habit forming because it is a nice alternative to coffee. I drink Yerba Mate, Guayusa, and Coca tea instead of Coffee. Guayusa gives the most energy and the Coca is more feel good. My guess is that Yerba Mate is probably the best for you. But they're all good for you and much better than Coffee. Coca tea makes me a little more relaxed and socialable when drunk before going out. Kind of a nice feeling of well being. Sometimes I drink a mix of Guayusa and Coca. I've even used this combo before working out with good effects.
