Check out the photo below. Yesterday I opened up the photo album on my iphone to show a pic to someone, and noticed a section blacked out. When I clicked on them, there were 2 photos of my son book-ending 7 photos of my pot plants that i took to show a friend for some advice over a week ago. Now, I have 371 photos on my phone, AND ONLY THESE PHOTOS WERE BLACKED OUT.

I am not paranoid. I abhor conspiracy theories. I can't imagine that someone, my service provider for example, would break into my phone, peruse my photos and black those conspicuous ones out as a warning, but the coincidence of only these photos being affected is baffling. (needless to say I deleted the photos after taking the one below... )

Anyone hear of this, or anything similar, happening?

Any thoughts?

Normally when people or things are possessed, it's a great idea to dunk them in a bath full of saltwater--take care to submerge afflicted subject completely.

Not sure if that's the best course of action with the phone.

Do you smudge or pray?? Have you asked your plants if they are okay with being photographed? You attract the craziest events! What an interesting relationship with the universe.

Out of curiosity, provided it wasn't synchronicity/coincidence, how would the phone "know" to do that? Did you tag them as "MY POT PLANTS LOLZ" and upload them to some kind public network? Probably not! So I'm intrigued, how could that even theoretically be determined?

Anyway, I have never owned a cell phone, I didn't even have a land line for about two years. A month or two ago I purchased some old plastic grandma phone with giant buttons for $10 from a discount non-corporate hardware store down the block. One night, my phone turned on, the speakerphone turned on, the whole thing lit up, and this terrifying static hissed out of the phone. I kept pressing the hangup button, but it wouldn't work. The phone stayed on, while it was technically hung up and nothing had touched it in any way. It was like a phone call from Satan. I unplugged the phone's power and it continued to light up and hiss, so I finally had to yank the phone cord from the wall and it stopped.

This was around 3am, during the early days of my melatonin experiments.

Well.....this is going to sound odd. I also have an iPhone, I too have noticed blacked out photos but never thought too much about it. When I read thus thread a few minutes ago I remembered it so I went to my photos folder and, yes there were about 5 pictures that were now black squares. Weird, right? I touched one to see what it did and the picture opened up.... It was a picture of a special cactus. I scrolled over to the next blacked out pictures....the only blacked out pictures were of the cacti!

I am very far from a consperacy theorist, but what a weird coincidence!

I was in the middle of making my foil hat when I realized the company that makes the foils is Quebecor, a company here who own pretty much all media and a good chunk of the energy we buy... So now I am making a tomato plant leaf hat. I'm sure it will accomplish the same thing. the voices told me so.

maybe the phones are programmed to delete illegal plant pics when you take them or snag a copy for your big brother watching files??? if my pictures of psychedelic plants and stuff start blacking out on my puter then i will start to wonder.....i don't have a cell phone so i don't know

Interesting. The GPS on an iphone is called location services, and I usually have it turned off. It has definitely been off for the last month. The geotagging I believe comes wrapped in with OS4, which all iphones from 3g on are automatically updated to, but I don't believe the function works on the 3G model. Thanks for the heads up - I'll look into it though.

As an update, I rebooted my iphone, but the two remaining photos that were not deleted of my son are still blacked out... I also spoke to a friend who is a systems analyst and an apple rep and he says that there is no way that he knows of for anyone to access the photos on your phone via traditional cellular networks. He did say, however, that it would probably be possible via wi-fi, which I keep enabled on my phone. (used to, that is... )
