take 50 ml and put it on a glass baking dish and let evaporate,if there is a residue after evaporation,dont use it.

Yes you are right you cant evap or freeze precipitate limonene, if thats what you mean, but you can get pure white crystals with limonene, its just that there are two extra steps necessary (salting and freebasing).
